How to play

Anyone who has played a Nemesis slot before will not find it hard to get to grips with the Breaking Xmas slot. The first thing players will need to do is to choose their paylines and their stake. They can do this by clicking on the menu option and then clicking on 'bet'. 

There are 25 paylines available in the game and they are adjustable. Players can play with either 10, 20, or 25. The minimum that can be staked is €0.01 on 10 lines, which comes to €0.10. The maximum that can be staked is 50 across all paylines, bringing the max to €1,250, which is quite an impressive amount. This covers a wide range and should please players regardless of their budget. 

If you want to sit back and watch the game's story unfold, you can use the autoplay feature. This allows players to set the game to take up to 200 spins on their behalf. 

Symbols and payouts 

Nemesis has taken plenty of time in the design of this game, and while the mechanics may be similar to some of its other titles, the visual element really does stand out. The symbols are based on characters in the game and Christmas items. The highest paying symbol is Tommy, a Gingerbread man decoration. He pays out 20x for combinations of five, 4x for combos of four, 2x for three, and 0.2x for two, making him the only symbol to pay for two. 

Next up is a group of symbols featuring several main characters. Sally the Cat,  both versions of Joe, and Mr Snowy all payout 10x for combinations of five. The Ace and King are up next, both paying out 5x for combinations of five. 

Finally, there is Karl and Billy, who pay out 4x for five, this is also matched by the Jack and Queen symbols. These four also pay out the lowest amount - coughing up just 0.2x for combinations of three.  

Best Breaking Xmas bonus feature

The Breaking Xmas bonus features really do a great job of adding even more personality to the game. The main feature in the title is the bonus game. This is a pick-me bonus round where players can advance when they pick the right boxes to win more prizes. 

This is activated when Joe's damage level fills up. This is represented in a little bar at the top of the screen. To contribute to this, you need to land a symbol of Sally the cat two reels away from a symbol of Joe the Burglar. When this happens, Sally will come to life and jump across the reels, attacking him and causing him more damage. It's a really fun feature that brings the game to life even more. 

The other main feature is the Breaking Xmas free spins round. This is fairly standard, with players winning free spins for securing three or more of the scatter symbols on the reels. Three of them reward five free spins, four will earn you 10, and five will earn you 20. The free spins can not be retriggered. 

RTP & volatility

The Breaking Xmas RTP is listed as 96.6% on the Nemesis website. The volatility is in the medium/high regions. We did find that wins were not too common.
