Microgaming has stripped away all of the fancy graphics and visuals you might expect to find in one of its online slots. The game takes things back to a simpler time, with a plain blue background and white reels. 

The slot takes place on a 3x3 grid, with just one active pay line in the game running through the middle.  To play the game, players will need to adjust the number of coins they are wagering per bet and the value of those coins. The minimum you can wager in the slot is €0.25, while the maximum is €15. This is going to grab the attention of more conservative players. 

Despite the classic feel to the slot, the game is fully optimized to work on mobile devices. The game’s smaller reel size lends itself very nicely to being played on a smaller screen. It uses the same controls and interfaces as on the desktop site. 

Symbols and Payouts 

The payouts in the Double Wammy slot are based on the number of coins you have active on each spin. The highest paying symbol is the game’s Double Wammy symbol, this will pay out a very impressive 2,500 coins if you are playing with three coins and you land three of them. This is a nice jackpot for a three-reel game and is one that is going to grab the attention of some players. Having two coins wagered with the same combination will pay 1,600 coins, while one coin would pay out 800 coins. 

The number 7 is the second-highest paying symbol, and it will pay out 240 coins when you land three on the payline with three coins active. The triple, double, and single bar then pay 120 coins, 75 coins, and 30 coins respectively for combos of three with three coins. Any combination of bars will then pay 15. 

Three cherries with three coins will give you 30 coins. Any two cherries will then give you 15 coins. The lowest you can win in the game is for landing a single cherry. With one coin, this will pay out 2, for two it will pay out four, and for three coins it will cough up six coins. 

Best Double Wammy Bonus Feature

If you’ve come this far in the Double Wammy slot review, you will have realized that the slot is not too concerned with mod-cons. Instead, it chooses to focus on simple gameplay and some good winning potential. 

That said, there is still one Double Wammy bonus feature. This comes in the shape of the game’s logo symbol. Landing one of the Double Wammy slot logos will see your win doubled. Landing two of them with a winning combination will see your win quadrupled. It will act as the game’s wild symbol too, stepping in to substitute for other symbols to form a winning combination. 

RTP & Volatility

As we’ve noted throughout this Double Wammy slot review, the game has some good winning potential and this is reflected in its numbers. As well as the impressive aforementioned 2,500 coins jackpot, the Double Wammy RTP is a solid 96.23%. There was no volatility information available in the game. We found that wins in the game were fairly common and we were able to secure some good payouts throughout. That said, the lack of bonus features does take away from the game’s engagement somewhat.
