The Golden Casino video slot has a typical five-reel, three-row setup. There are 18 paylines, all of which are fixed. When placing your bets, you can adjust the Steps and coin value. Steps refer to the number of bets placed on each line, and most (but not all) of the payouts will be multiplied by your selected step. The lowest stake per spin is €0.18 and the highest is €180. If there is one obvious critique of this game, it’s the design of the controls. The graphics and font are so delicate that the labels for the controls are very hard to read, especially against the grey background.
If you want to customize your gameplay, there are a couple of options at your disposal. First, you can set up Autoplay. It’s defaulted to 10 spins, but you can adjust it up to 500 spins. There are separate controls for both the reel sounds and the music – if the big band swing starts to sound a little tired, you can toggle it off and still hear other sounds effects.
The symbols in this game are as stylized as you’d expect. The normal symbols include 10, J, Q, K, and A – all of which carry designs no longer seen in modern decks. There are also red, blue, and green casino chips, plus a stack of cash to round out the basic symbols. The normal symbol wins are all paid out according to your Steps. A dice scatter symbol is also present. While it doesn’t offer a direct payout, landing one simultaneously on the first, third, and fifth reels will take you to a bonus game. Here, you’ll pick a prize and receive a multiplier, which is applied to your total bet rather than your Steps.
The final symbol in the game is the Golden Casino Wild. The wild carries a few interesting stipulations. First, this symbol does offer a direct payout, but only if you land one (or more) starting on the first reel. If you’re lucky enough to land five wilds, you’ll be awarded 2,500 coins, multiplied by your Steps. If you’re betting five Steps with a coin value of 2.00, that’s a win of 12,500 coins – the biggest in the game. If you don’t land a wild on the first reel, then it stands in for other symbols in the base game. It cannot substitute for the 10 – A symbols, but it can substitute for the casino chips or cash symbols.
This slot has two bonus features in the same vein. The first is a Blackjack Bonus. When you spin three Blackjack tokens, which only appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, you’ll begin a short mini-game. You’ll be presented with three hands and asked to choose one. The hand you picked will then be compared against the two didn’t. You’ll be awarded a multiplier depending on whether you lose, win, tie, or drew 21. The multipliers are 1x, 2x, 3x, and 5x, and are applied to the total bet.
The Roulette Bonus is triggered by three Roulette tokens on reels 1, 2, and 3. You’ll spin the wheel once and win a number, color, and a random number of Golden Casino free spins on the wheel. If you land on your color or number during the free spins, you’ll be rewarded with a random multiplier. These, too, are applied to the total bet.
The Golden Casino RTP is 95.21%, which is perfectly average for a video slot. The game mechanics display medium volatility. Players are rewarded with frequent small wins to keep their bankroll up. Large wins do occur, but much less frequently.
