Classic-themed games never go out of style, so there’s room enough for the Red Hot 20 slot from Apex Gaming.
Though it has the experience of a classic slot, this game has a common video slot setup. There are five reels, three rows, and 20 fixed paylines. You’ll find a wide betting range marked by slightly annoying buttons. You may adjust the value of each credit from €0.01 to €5. You can also set the number of credits you spin each time from 20 to 2000. However, you have to repeatedly click each button to cycle through the available values.
If you click too fast and miss the number you were aiming for, you’ll have to cycle through again. In terms of actual euros, this means you can stake €0.20 to €10,000 per spin – certainly an attractive upper limit for high rollers. In terms of customization, there isn’t much available. You can turn the sound on and off within the game. Autoplay is also available near the spin button and will run automatically until stopped.
Before we dive into the actual prizes, let’s take a moment to talk about how they are awarded. Each multiplier provided below will be applied to the number of credits you bet per line. In addition, prizes can only be won from left to right. Moving on to the symbols themselves, you’re likely to recognize all of them.
Those worth the least are lemons, cherries, and oranges. When you match five of each respective symbol on a payline, you’ll be awarded 100x your line bet. Next are five watermelons or blueberries for 200x the bet per line, and five grapes pay 400x the line bet. There are two special symbols in play. First is the wild 7, which will substitute for any of the fruits. You can also land five wilds on a payline for 1,000x the line bet. Finally, there is the star scatter. Five scatters in any position awards the biggest prize of the game: 500x the total bet.
In true classic fashion, there isn’t a typical Red Hot 20 bonus feature. However, Apex Gaming did incorporate a small feature that adds fun, risk, and better prize potential to the game. This is the gamble feature. Essentially, whenever you win a qualifying payout in the game, you’ll be presented with the option to take it or risk it. Note we use the term qualifying payout – most developers have a minimum and/or maximum win that qualifies for the gamble. Apex hasn’t declared one, but a limit might still be present.
Once you click risk, you’ll be taken to a new screen for a chance to play a round of double or nothing. A spinning card will appear onscreen. You will select whether you believe the card to have a black or red suit. If the card stops and you have guessed the correct color, you’ll double your win. If you guess incorrectly, you forfeit your prize. Red Hot 20 allows you to gamble the same win up to five times as long as you continue to guess correctly.
The Red Hot 20 RTP comes in different variations and will be set by the casino operator. The RTP can be anything from 90,16% to 97,03%. The game demonstrates medium volatility. Prizes tend to be frequent and on the conservative side.
