How to play

The first thing you will notice about X-O ManOWar is how colorful and well-designed it is. Not only is it great to look at though, it’s very easy to play. To kick things off, players will need to select their stake. This can be done using the +/- button located under the reels. The minimum that can be wagered is €0.25, while the maximum is €12.50, which is quite a limited range. As with most slots, if you want to kick back and relax, you can use the autospin feature to take your spins for you. 

The slot has a fairly standard setup. All of the action takes place on a 5x3 grid, and there are 25 active paylines at all times.

Symbols and payouts

 Like a lot of Pairplay titles, X-O ManOWar pays out per line bet and not by total stake. The highest paying symbol on the reels is the titular character. Landing five of him will secure you a whopping 3,000x your line-bet payout. For three of him, this is substantially lower at 100x your line bet. Primary Reebo, Colonel Capshaw, and Trill are all next, paying out 1,500, 1,000, and 500x your line bet for combos of five, and 50,40, and 25 for lines of three. Rounding out the characters is Saana, who pays out 350x for five, and 20x for three. 

The royal symbols are on the lower-end of the spectrum. A, K, and Q pay 200, 150, and 100x your line bet for a combo of five, while J and 10 are the two lowest, paying out 50x for five. The lowest you can win is 5x for a three combination of J or 10. 

Best X-O ManOWar bonus feature

It's fair to say that X-O ManOWar is fit to burst with special features and bonus rounds. You will probably instantly notice the meter that sits to the left of the reels. Every time you score a win, this will fill up a little bit. Once you have filled one orb, you will be rewarded with one of three bonuses. This is either the X-O ManOWar free spins bonus where you will get 10, 15, or 20 spins, a sticky wild bonus that will last 3-5 rounds, or a multiplier that will multiply your bet amount up to 32x. 

Every time you manage to fill the meter, you will advance to a different chapter in the game. This will change the aesthetic of the game and also reset the meter, giving you the chance to retrigger the bonuses again. 

The fun doesn't stop there though, there are also five X-O ManOWar bonus games as well. These are triggered when you land three or more bonus symbols on the reels. Three of these, The Hara Vine, Battle Commander Thrill, and Vine or Not? are pick-me mini-games that also offer multipliers. There is a fun shooting mini-game called Defend the Earth where you have to shoot down some alien invaders. There is also a board game where you must defeat enemies to win prizes called The Trial of Shanhara.

The X-O ManOWar RTP is listed at an average 95%. The volatility of the game is not listed. We found that we were able to secure semi-regular wins and bonus rounds when playing the demo version of the slot.
