Former Football League striker Adebayo Akinfenwa has become a brand ambassador for BetUK ahead of next week’s hotly anticipated Cheltenham Festival. The horse-racing event is one of the most popular in the UK, and Akifenwa joins the likes of other British sporting icons like Teddy Sheringham and Peter Scudamore as brand ambassadors for the event.
The Cheltenham Festival is one of the biggest events on the horse-racing calendar, and top UK online casinos and bookmakers will be competing with one another over the next week with great bonuses and promotions.
The event takes place between 14 March – 17 March 2023, finishing with the Cheltenham Gold Cup race on March 17th at 3:30 pm GMT. The event showcases the best of British horse racing, attracting punters and bets from all over the world.
Adebayo Akinfenwa is a cult icon in the UK sports scene, and his inclusion in the event for BetUK will no doubt prove to be a successful move for the company. The player, famed for his strength and bulking physique, retired from football at the end of last season and has been a regular on TV and radio in the UK since. He has a huge social media presence which will no doubt benefit the company’s campaign.
The collaboration between BetUK and Adebayo Akinfenwa will likely turn a few heads, with Akinfenwa’s huge physique being matched by his larger-than-life personality. BetUK believes this will help them have their biggest Cheltenham Festival ever. Matt Bramley, the company’s UK manager, said they were thrilled to have ‘Bayo’ on board. They went on to say that the former Wycombe front-man was the perfect fit for the brand, asking the question, ‘who doesn’t love Bayo?’
Akinfenwa was also excited about the deal. They said they were excited to be working with BetUK ahead of what they are sure will be the biggest Cheltenham Festival.
As part of the deal, Akinfenwa, dubbed ‘the world’s strongest player’, will appear in marketing campaigns for the company before and during the three-day event. This includes print, radio and social media appearances. He will join former England and Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham and Champion Jockey Peter Scudamore in this role.
