The Rise of eSports in Latin America
eSports continues to be a leading source of entertainment, especially for young guys worldwide. However, Latin America is coming up fast as a top destination despite North America, Asia, and Europe being massive markets.
According to Statista, Mexico and Brazil lead in eSports popularity, with the latter expected to rake in revenues in the region of $22 million by 2023. This just $2 million shy of Mexico’s $22 million for the same period.
The estimated numbers are courtesy of increasing demand from players in this region. LatAm boasts over 45 million eSports fans according to Newzoo, a consulting firm. The eSports market is also growing on a global scale after the industry generated over $1 billion.
