Jake Paul is never far from headlines, and the Youtube star turned boxer has now launched his Betr product in Ohio. The microbetting app, the first of its kind, received its first real-money bets in the state on Friday, January 13th, following a successful soft launch on New Year's Day.
Jake Paul launched Betr with SimpleBet CEO Joey Levy back in August 2022. The app is microbetting-focused, with players betting on individual moments in games. When players load up the app, they are presented with fast-resolving mini-questions based on moments in the chosen sports event.
The product has had an incredibly quick roll-out and has already proved popular with the public. The app was rolled out in September and was free to play for players across the States. The move to Ohio marks its first real-money offering. The company is claiming this is the fastest-to-market offering in the US-legalized market.
The Betr app is available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, with Paul announcing the Ohio launch with a promo video highlighting the first promotion. Betr will give away $1,000,000 to the first player to reach 30 consecutive microbets. Paul has over 20 million followers on Youtube, something which will no doubt ensure the success of the promotion. This promotion will start on Superbowl Sunday.
Anyone who has followed Jake Paul’s career will know that he doesn’t like to do things on a small scale. Paul and Levy have announced plans to expand the Betr product all over the USA. They have put together a plan for state-by-state expansion, with the product already set to launch in Indiana, and provisional plans in place to expand into Massachusetts when the market opens.
Speaking about the project, Levy said that the Ohio launch was the start of a gradual, well-researched plan. They said that they would take the time needed to discover and validate their product’s market fit to ensure that they grow in a profitable manner.
Jake Paul also expressed his excitement at the launch in Ohio. They said that they couldn’t be happier that their home state was the first to allow real-money play for Betr. They said that Betr makes sports more fun and that bettors will have the chance to place bets linked to their favourite players.
The legalized gambling market in Ohio opened for business on January 1st 2023, and it has proven to be a big success so far. Several key operators have had successful launches in the State.
While betting numbers are high, the state has already handed out its first fines as well. BetMGM, Draftkings and Caesar’s Entertainment were all hit with fines for advertising regulation breaches.
