ESA Gaming becomes the latest iGaming company to enter the Greek gaming market. This is after it secured a supplier license from the country’s gambling watchdog, the Hellenic Gaming Commission.
ESA Gaming received its supplier license from the Hellenic Gaming Commission. This allows it to offer its range of mobile gaming products to Greek gamblers. These products include EasySwipe HTML5 mobile-friendly releases.
These titles are designed to offer the best quality casino releases and offer different services to sportsbooks. This continues while offering minimum to zero disruption for sports bettors.
ESA became the latest supplier to receive the green light to operate in Greece after BGaming reached the same milestone earlier in December. Other game developers already offering their range of games in this jurisdiction include Yggdrasil, Oryx Gaming, iSoftBet, and SoftSwiss.
Keep in mind, there are two different types of supplier licenses. The first one is issued to companies offering online betting technology. The second one is issued to those offering online games of chance.
ESA has its base in Malta but it boasts certifications in several jurisdictions including Colombia, Portugal, and Italy. It also has a supplier license issued by the Malta Gaming Authority.
The chief executive at ESA Gaming commented on the latest milestone by the company. Zorica Smallwood stated the Greek license provided excitement for the company as it steps up its efforts in expanding worldwide.
Smallwood added that the Greek market features plenty of potential. And they couldn’t wait for the reception of ESA Gaming casino games by both players and operators. The executive concluded by stating the Greek license acquisition is an important step for the developer this year.
The gambling watchdog in Greece started accepting license applications last year in October. This was after legislation to govern the industry was passed in October 2019.
The national regulator issues separate licenses valid for seven years for online games and online sports betting. Sportsbooks have to part with €3 million for the license, while those who want to offer games of chance have to pay €2 million.
Also included in the legislation is the maximum bet amount on slot games, which is set at €2. Prizes also have a cap set at €5,000 while those resulting from jackpots sit at €50,000.
But the government introduced further regulations affecting online slots advertising. It banned the advertising of slots with a €2 cap per spin as well as a three-second spin maximum. It also introduced a cap on winnings per round now set at €70,000.
