Wazdan announces its entry into the Greek gambling market. This is after the Hellenic Gaming Commission granted the game developer a Manufacturer A1 Suitability license. That means the developer can now offer its slot titles in the country.
The Hellenic Gaming Commission awarded Wazdan a Manufacturer A1 Suitability license. This means the game developer can now offer its slot titles to gamblers in Greece. The license acquisition also marked a major milestone for Wazdan, making Greece the 16th jurisdiction it’s certified to operate in. This is after the recent approvals in Belarus and New Jersey.
Gamblers in Greece can look forward to high-quality slots from the developer following the approval. They include top-performing releases such as the Power of Gods™ series, 9 Lions, and Larry the Leprechaun. Players can also expect to come across Power of Gods™: the Pantheon.
Greece opened its licensing process to interested parties through the Hellenic Gaming Commission in October 2020. This was after the Greek parliament approved a gambling reform bill back in 2019.
The reforms in the online gambling sector were part of a bigger package known as Invest in Greece. This package included legislation aimed at streamlining planning and environmental regulations. The Greek iGaming market officially opened on August 1, 2021.
Andrzej Hyla expressed their delight after receiving the Greek license. The Head of Sales was also proud to be approved in the 16th jurisdiction.
The recent entry into Greece comes a month after the developer signed two partnerships with various operators across Europe. One of these partnerships is with Tuko Productions in Italy. The deal will allow Wazdan to offer Italian gamblers with over 40 titles. Tuko Productions is an online gambling platform that started in 2016.
Wazdan’s collaboration with Tuko Productions is a crucial move even as Italy shows no signs of slowing down in terms of restrictive measures in the industry. This is in terms of sports sponsorships involving a gambling platform.
Another recent partnership was with Twin Casino. The deal will see the Malta-based operator offer the developer’s over 140 titles. Some of the titles gamblers in the country can look forward to include Hold the Jackpot titles, Midnight in Tokyo, and Fortune Reels among others. It wasn’t long ago since Wazdan entered the Colombian and New Jersey markets. Other recent market entrances include Belarus and Switzerland.
Wazdan is not the only game developer to actualize its interest to enter the Greek online gambling market. Several other reputable game studios have already received the nod by the country’s regulator to enter the market. Yggdrasil Gaming, Red Rake Gaming, and 1x2 Network are some of the developers already operational in Greece.
