What are Cookies?

A cookie, pixel, or similar technology is a small file or information saved on your device or browser when you visit a website. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

The Cookies We Use

Public pages use the following cookies for choices, attribution and security. Restricted staff access uses a separate authentication session.

• Consent choice (names “84fa0b8c9d7da99d162659e11c5e4028” and “84fa0b8c9d7da99d162659e11c5e4028-decline”) – first-party; remembers whether you allowed or declined optional cookies, so we don’t ask again on every visit. Strictly necessary. Stored for 12 months.
• A/B test group (“glm_ab”) is a first-party, randomly assigned letter (“a” or “b”) used for page comparisons. It is optional, is set only after you allow cookies, and is removed if you decline. It lasts 30 days.
• Language prompt preference (“redirected_to_translated_site”) remembers when you dismiss or act on a language suggestion. This functional first-party cookie lasts one day.
• Visit origin (“glm_entry”) is a first-party session cookie containing the first page of your visit and a broad referral category. It does not contain search terms, your name or email. It is not created after an explicit decline. If a country in our prior-consent group (EEA, UK or Switzerland) is available through the site’s public country policy, creation is consent-gated; otherwise it can be created before a choice. Declining removes it and stops its use. It has no persistent expiry, although browser session restoration can retain session cookies.
• Bot protection (“bunny_shield_id_…”) – set by our content delivery network, Bunny.net, to distinguish real visitors from malicious automated traffic and protect the Website. Necessary for security. Short-lived.

We do not use advertising or social media cookies on our public pages. Our first-party analytics do not track you across other websites. External links and embedded demos are covered in the third-party section below.

Your Options

Our banner lets you allow or decline optional cookies. The A/B cookie requires an affirmative choice. Ignoring the banner does not always prevent the visit-origin cookie: its eligibility is described above. An explicit decline removes both optional cookies and stops their use. To change a saved choice, delete our cookies in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on a later visit.

Cookieless Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly website analytics tool that we host ourselves. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personal data or personally identifiable information. It does not track you across websites or over time, and none of the data is shared with third parties. The aggregated, anonymous statistics it produces – such as page views and referral sources – simply help us understand how our website is used so we can improve it. We no longer use Google Analytics, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or tracking service.

Third-Party Cookies

Bunny.net provides the security cookie described above. External websites may set cookies when you follow their links. Game demos embedded in our pages also connect to third-party providers when launched; those providers may set or read cookies, subject to your browser settings and their own policies. An embedded demo does not require you to leave our page for those third-party requests to occur.

Changes to the Policy

Our Cookies Policy may be updated from time to time. Any such changes will then be posted on this page.
