I know it's not fun to face-plant on a hard skating surface. However, considering Skate or Die is virtual, and the graphics look impressive, I bet it’d be hard to resist joining this adventure.

The skatepark looks dilapidated to symbolize the pain of making it to the pro leagues. The wheelchair doesn’t make it easier for skaters either, as it means it’s on standby for anybody who breaks their bones. Either way, the classic pop-punk melody helps ignite an optimistic vibe.

Be careful not to be distracted by the graffiti-packed background, making the user interface crowded. However, the controls surround the 5 by 3 gambling platform.

Symbols and Payouts

This online slot has only nine regular symbols centered around graffiti symbols and different human body parts. So, it’s safe to conclude that the symbols are thematic.

Most of you already know how to generate payouts in a game with 243 ways to win. Basically, a winning combination of identical symbols will pay from the leftmost side to the right and on adjacent reels. And the payouts are paid based on the selected total stake!

Extra Sauce Row

This row sits above the primary grid and consists of 2x, 3x, 4x, 10x, and no multipliers. The multipliers connect with xNudge and/or xZone in the corresponding reel below them. It updates with each base game spin and bonus mode.

xZone Wild

Suppose an active xZone wild appears alongside an active multiplier in the Extra Sauce Row above its column. In that case, the xZone will apply its top row multiplier on every regular paying symbol adjacent to it. When it starts to nudge, the xZone multiplier affects the xNudge Wild and xNudge Wild Supreme.

xNudge Wild

This wild can hit anywhere in Skate or Die and nudge to be fully visible. Every nudge increases the wild multiplier by +1x, and multiple xNudge Wilds traversing the win will add their multipliers.

The xZone multipliers spreading to the reel don’t affect the xNudge Wild and its multipliers. However, the xNudge picks up any multipliers that it nudges across that have been affected by the xZone multipliers. The xNudge multiplier grows by a corresponding value, if any, above its reel on the Extra Sauce Row. 

xNudge Wild Supreme

This wild only exists in the Boneyard Spins. Besides the xNudge Wild features, each xNudge Wild Supreme will also add up all the multipliers from the Extra Sauce Row to their respective multiplier.

Further, the xNudge Wild Supreme and its multipliers are not affected by the xZone multipliers spreading to the reel on which the xNudge is positioned. But the xNudge picks up any multipliers that it nudges across that have been affected by the xZone multipliers.

The scatters land on any base game reel, and if 3, 4, or 5 scatters land, they trigger the 10 spins of the following:

The Final Thoughts

Did you ever think skateboarding would make it to the iGaming world as an online slot inspiration? Me neither! And then comes Nolimit City with this video slot, which insists on breaking some bones before reaching the pro leagues. However, that statement made me question whether it’s symbolic of this gameplay’s extreme volatility!

Despite its highly risky gaming model, players can win substantially up to 30,000 times the stake. Thanks to plenty of features, hitting the win cap is possible. Speaking of features, the game has plenty for players to work with, including the xZone Wild, which appeared in Gluttony.

However, apart from the high volatility, one of my primary concerns was the bloody visuals, which I’m sure could not be ideal for all audiences. Further, some features incorporated into Skate or Die were pretty complicated, considering they don’t hit frequently. Even so, after a few tries of the demo linked on this GoodLuckMate page, everything will make sense!
