The Wings of Horus Slot Game

A little revenge party never killed nobody… or did it?

Those are the words from the developer behind this game, Hacksaw Gaming. Although the gaming developer doesn’t reveal who the sun god revenges against, I have a pretty clear idea of who it would be.

According to history, Horus became enemies with his nephew, Seth, after the latter murdered Osiris (Horus’ father) and contested the sun god’s heritage. So, he avenged his father’s death and became a pharaoh, although one of his eyes was mutilated.

Wings of Horus primarily happens in a dark, monochromatic world, except for some visuals, giving it a somewhat ominous atmosphere. However, more colour is added in the bonus games, brightening the experience a bit. It’s like what players encountered in Hand of Anubis.

Two giant undead figures border the 5x6 gameboard on both sides, perhaps symbolising the extent the sun god intends to reach with his vengeance. An uneasy yet ambient melody complemented by ambient effects completes the terrifying design.

Symbols and Payouts

The symbols are part of the coloured zones in this video slot, helping you follow the on-screen action effortlessly. According to the paytable, they include 5 low and 5 high-paying regular symbols.

The regular symbols are your keys to unlocking wins when you match identicals on adjacent reels from the outermost left to the right. The game has up to 7,776 possible winning ways!

Ensure you consult the paytable for the number of symbols required to win and the corresponding prize based on the total stake!

Wings of Horus spells out the letters H, O, R, U, and S for its low-paying symbols. The H and O pay 0.1-0.3x, the R and U are worth 0.1-0.4x, and the S awards 0.1-0.5x the bet for 3+ of the same.

Then, the five high-priced symbols include the following thematic objects:

  • Ankh - 0.3x, 0.5x, 0.8x the stake.
  • Eye of Horus - 0.4x, 0.6x, and 1x the bet.
  • Lotus Flower - 0.5x, 0.7x, and 1.2x the stake.
  • Pharaoh Skull - 0.8x, 1.2x, and 1.6x the bet.
  • Horus Skull - 1x, 1.5x, and 2x the stake.

The slot game also has special Wild, Orb of the Moon, Orb of the Sun, and FS Scatter symbols.

Wings of Horus Slot Bonus Features

After looking at this slot’s features, it’s clear that a little revenge has benefits. It has several special symbols, two bonus games, and buy options.

Special Symbols

The Orb of the Moon symbol selects all the instances of a random symbol on the Wings of Horus grid. It then replaces all the positions of the picked symbols and itself with a higher-valued symbol or a wild.

The Orb of the Sun symbol functions similarly to the Orb of the Moon. However, it picks and replaces all instances of two random symbols on the grid and itself with a higher-valued symbol or a wild.

Finally, the Wild only appears through the Orb of the Moon and Orb of the Sun mechanics. Typically, it substitutes for all symbols in the paytable.

Wings of Horus bonus features

Sacred Scripture

If all the low-paying symbols land simultaneously and form “Horus” horizontally, you’ll receive an instant win of 500x the current bet!

Revenge of the Pharaoh

Land at least 3 FS scatters simultaneously to activate this feature with 10 free spins.

Two progression bars will appear outside the Wings of Horus grid. The golden progression bar increases whenever a new win happens, and it, in turn, increases the purple Orb progression bar by a level when complete. The golden progression bar then resets to zero.

The purple Orb progression bar starts at level 1 and activates before the last bonus feature drop. The levels filled in the bar correspond to the number of Orbs that land on the final feature drop. Up to 5 Orbs can land simultaneously.

Land 2 or 3 FS scatters simultaneously during the feature to retrigger +2 and +4 additional spins, respectively.

Rise of the Falcon

Hitting 4 FS scatters simultaneously during the base game triggers 10 free spins of this feature. It has the same mechanics as the Revenge of the Pharaoh, but the purple Orb progression bar starts at level 2.

Bonus Buy

Typical of Hacksaw games, Wings of Horus lets you purchase bonus modes from the main game using the buy bonus button. They include the BonusHunt FeatureSpins, Orby FeatureSpins, Revenge of the Pharaoh, and Rise of the Falcon, worth 3x, 50x, 100x, and 250x the stake, respectively.

How to Win at Wings of Horus Slot

This slot should be easy to gamble on for both beginners and experienced players. However, since winning depends on a random number generator, it’s not guaranteed per spin.

The video slot has 5 reels, 6 rows, and up to 7,776 ways to win! You win when matching symbols hit adjacent reels from left to right, starting from the leftmost side. A lucky spin can award up to 15,000 times the bet regardless of the game mode.

Since you can only spin the reels to win, choose a bet from the €0.10 and €100 values. Then, push the button with a single clockwise-facing arrow to play one round.

Alternatively, apply the autoplay function (circle with double clockwise-facing arrows) to play several Wings of Horus rounds automatically. Meanwhile, the Menu icon leads you to the system options, including Turbo/Super Turbo, for faster spins.

Wings of Horus Slot RTP & Volatility

The developer provides several RTPs for this slot, ranging from 88.19% to 96.33%. In the meantime, the slot has medium to high volatility.

The Final Thoughts

Hacksaw Gaming has invested in several Ancient Egyptian slots, including Hand of Anubis and Le Pharaoh. And now, this new release somewhat cements the assumption that the developer has a newly found love. This time, it’s about the god of the sky, moon, and an Egyptian pharaoh, Horus.

The backstory gives a background of what inspired the game. In this case, it’s revenge, although I’m unsure who it is against. But I assume Seth since he’s the deity’s greatest enemy. Like its Hand of Anubis counterpart, Wings of Horus maintains a dark design, with only a few coloured visuals.

For gameplay, it returns the Orb symbols from Hands of Anubis without multipliers and with different functions. When playing the base game and free spins, your main objective is to convert symbols into higher-valued ones or wilds. It offers a higher winning potential in addition to the 7,776 ways to win!

Further, this video slot is incredibly generous with its winning potential, offering a top prize of 15,000x the bet! In summary, it’s a pretty likeable experience that affirms that a little revenge party never killed anybody!
