Brainwashed Slot Review
Despite being a new entrant to the iGaming world, Shady Lady opted for a bold theme for its debut, Devil’s Finger, which I reviewed a few minutes ago.

The Brainwashed Slot Game
Shady Lady has provided context behind this new release, like it did with its debut creation. This time, the action unfolds in rural America in the late '60s and early '70s, when the hippie movement was at its peak. But three sects sprouted underneath the era’s free-spirited idealism, threatening the illusion of peace.
The introductory screen shows a colourful bus loaded to the brim and some individuals chilling around it. Perhaps they’re headed to the remote region that’s the game’s background—and where not much seems to happen.
It is an ample environment to enjoy freedom and live life without the pressures of the outside world. However, warning signs like “Free Candy’ and ‘Fresh Squeezed Cyan-Aid’ are some of the indications that strongly suggest something amiss.
The design isn’t far from the developer’s debut creation, Devil’s Finger. But it’s not as gory as its predecessor. Regardless, it’s a creatively curated artwork that’s not a usual online slot sighting.
Symbols and Payouts
I’m impressed by how the design team hasn’t conformed to the standard use of playing cards for this game’s symbols. Instead, it includes thematic items and petrified faces of individuals, confirming my prior unwelcoming suspicions.
This 5-reel, 4-row video slot embraces 30 paylines and 8 regular symbols for its paytable. You should knock on wood that three or more matching symbols align on a predefined payline to achieve wins.
Evaluating a win entails multiplying the selected bet by the combination’s paytable value. For clarity, multiple simultaneous wins are added.
The lows in Brainwashed include the Badge, Pills, Poison in a plastic cup, and a Bloodied Knife. These pay 0.5x, 1x, and 2x the bet for 3+ OAK. Further, the highs consist of the following:
- Redhead with coloured head beads - 1x, 1.5x, and 6x the bet.
- Bearded brown-haired Man - 1x, 2x, and 8x the stake.
- Female with coloured glasses - 1x, 3x, and 10x the bet.
- White-haired Man - 2.5x, 5x, and 20x the stake.
The Skull with splattered blood is the wild symbol. It pays the same values as the White-haired Man and substitutes for all regular symbols in winning combinations.
Brainwashed Slot Bonus Features
As enticing as the sects, this video slot also furnishes you with features during the base game. Then, there’s a bonus round, bonus boosters, and bonus buys!
Helter Skelter, Cyan-Aid & Space Heads
These are randomly triggered during the Brainwashed base game when their corresponding symbols appear on the TV screen. They do the following:
- Helter Skelter - it triggers stabbings on random grid positions, turning them into wilds.
- Cyan-Aid - converts any Brain symbols on the grid into wilds.
- Space Heads - transforms all character symbols on the grid into the highest-valued character symbol.

Brain Stacks
Special Brain symbols appear on all reels in stacks of varying lengths, each carrying 1x to 666x multipliers. A Golden Brain may appear in the stack during the free spins and can only be collected once. They double the win at the end of the spin.
Brain Collectors
At least one Brain Collector can appear during any Brainwashed base game spin. They include:
- Green - collect the brain values that land on them.
- Blue - collect the brain values that land on them, plus all brains above the first collected brain in the same column.
- Red - collect and multiply any brain values that land on them and all the brains above. Their multiplier increases by one for every collected brain.
The brain values are bet size multipliers.

Free Spins
Manage 3 scatters in Brainwashed to trigger 6 free spins, and the triggering scatter positions transform into random Brain Collectors before the bonus begins. Further, additional Brain Collectors may randomly spawn before any free spin.

All the Brain Collectors and the Red Brain Collector multipliers remain throughout the spins. The Brain Collection wins appear on the TV screen and are awarded after the free spins. Every ‘Extra Days’ symbol awards one extra spin.

Bonus Boost & Bonus Buy
The Bonus Boost increases the total bet by +50%, increasing the feature trigger chances. Then, the Big Bonus Boost increases the total bet by +5x, boosting the feature triggering chances. Then, use the Bonus Buy to instantly activate the free spins on your next spin for 84x bet.
Highlight Reels & Loot Box
The Highlight Reels in Brainwashed let you purchase 100, 300, or 500 spin batches and receive the 3 highest-paying results for 70x, 172x, and 257x the bet.
Every Loot Box awards a random prize from 9 Enhanced Bonuses across Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers. The Rare, Epic, and Legendary Loot Boxes cost 186x, 344x, and 571x the bet, respectively.
How to Win at Brainwashed Slot
This game serves you with 5 reels, 4 rows, and 30 active paylines, which is standard in the online slot world. So, the gameplay should be familiar to seasoned players.
You win here when 3 or more matching symbols appear along the predefined paylines from the furthest left column to the right. Only the highest win per payline is paid, and winning combination values displayed in the paytable reflect the current bet selection.
The Brainwashed bets start from €0.10 up to €50. Pick an ideal amount and hit the Spin button for a single game round if within your budget.
You can also activate Autoplay, which lets you preselect and start several auto-spins. Finally, use the Quickspin button to reduce spin times.
Brainwashed Slot RTP & Volatility
While playing this game and fighting to keep your mind intact, you must face its high volatility. Further, the default RTP can change based on the jurisdiction, but it tops at 96.30%. Meanwhile, the most you can win in any game round is 20,000x the stake!
The Final Thoughts
After reviewing Devil’s Finger and this sophomore slot, it’s safe to conclude that Shady Lady is off to a banging journey. But only if the company maintains the same mystery and fun releases.
Unlike the debut slot, which revolved around the devil, this new creation is about searching for meaning but getting lost in luring sects and cults. If thought critically, Brainwashed ventures into the life of most aspects of modern civilisation, where everything humans believe is fed to them by governing authorities controlling their bodies, minds, and souls.
As expected, the game’s design dives into an unorthodox theme, albeit with a funny side. But don’t think too much of its theme, as it has many exciting features that may impress many players. After all, it’s not highly sinister like Nolimit City’s True Kult, and shouldn’t scare your brains out.
What amazed me the most was its Brain Collectors feature, active in the base game and bonus round. In addition to the other features, it made reaching the mesmerising 20,000x bet win cap realistic. In summary, it was an immersive gambling experience at the same level as the developer’s debut release, making it worthwhile.
