    The Candy Combo Power Combo Game

    In this jackpot slot, you’ll be stepping into the shoes of a candy collector, sorting color-coded lollipops into three jars - Connectors, Collectors, and Jackpots. They’ll grow every time they’re “fed”, and each collected lollipop gives you a chance to trigger one, two, or all three bonuses simultaneously.

    When you’re not busy putting candies in these jars, you will be eating sugar cubes, gummies, and other snacks you won in the base game.

    Symbols & Payouts

    Candy Combo Power Combo features six honey-dipped letters and numbers as its minor paying symbols, and five candies as its major symbols.

    In terms of payout rates, all except the top-paying symbols are on par with the industry’s average while Hearts, the sweetest of the bunch, are on the lower end of the spectrum.

    • 9s, 10s, and Js: 0.20x for three-of-a-kind, 0.50x for four, 1.20x for five;
    • Qs, Ks, and As: 0.30x for three-of-a-kind, 0.70x for four, 1.50x for five;
    • Sugar Cube and Flower: 0.50x for three-of-a-kind, 1x for four, 2x for five;
    • Gelatine and Stars: 0.80x for three-of-a-kind, 1.20x for four, 2.50x for five;
    • Hearts: 1x for three-of-a-kind, 1.50x for four, 4x for five.

    These symbols are mainly here to keep your balance afloat. Theoretically, you’ll be drawing 11 paying plus 3 bonus symbols on a 3x5 field, so even though Wilds frequently appear, don’t expect to line fours and fives every other round.

    In terms of the bet range, what I didn’t like is that it mainly caters to low-rollers as it spans from €0.20 to just €25. On the upside, there are 37 staking options in this range, and the max payout of €250,000 is also quite good.

    Candy Combo Power Combo Bonus Features

    Before diving into how bonuses work in this game, I’d like to emphasize two things. Firstly, all bonus symbols give you a chance to trigger a feature, and secondly, they can be activated independently or simultaneously (again, randomly).

    In Candy Combo Power Combo, we have the Connector, Collector, and Jackpot bonus features, all of which are formatted as Link & Win minigames that start with 3 refillable free spins. Cash Coins (purple balls) are instant prize tokens that appear in all bonus rounds.

    Additionally, there’s the Upsizer feature that serves as a conditional Buy Bonus, which allows you to “upgrade” your current bonus into a better version.

    Connector Bonus

    The Red Lollipop scatter that fills the Red Connector Jar can trigger this bonus. Essentially, this round is all about scoring global multipliers by “connecting” rows of Cash Coins. You’ll reach the next multiplier stage whenever you line up five Cash Coins, whether horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

    The multiplier rises in a predetermined order, starting with 2x, followed by 3x through 12x, and ending with 15x. You can see the currently active multiplier at the bottom of the grid in the “Next Connector” field.

    Collector Bonus

    The first bonus feature I triggered while playing Candy Combo Power Combo is the Collector Bonus. You can get it by placing Green Lollipops into the Green jar, and even though it works best when paired with Connector multipliers, I received some hefty prizes when it was working as a standalone bonus.

    In a nutshell, Green Lollipops may randomly appear in this round to collect all values from currently active Cash Coins. Additionally, Collectors are counted as Cash Coins, meaning that you’ll refill the free spin count to 3 whenever one is drawn.

    Jackpot Bonus

    Purple Lollipops are needed to trigger what I’d argue is the best standalone bonus in this game, the Jackpot Bonus.

    As before, the playing field will morph into a Link & Win grid with 5x5 cells, but you’ll be seeing four jackpot tokens (Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand) atop the Cash Coins with the following values:

    • Mini: 15x
    • Minor: 50x
    • Major: 500x
    • Grand: 5,000x

    The only thing I didn’t like about this bonus is that you need four tokens of the same suite to grab the corresponding jackpot, but just like Collectors, these tokens refresh the free spin counter.

    More importantly, jackpot tokens will disappear once consumed, leaving more space for additional Cash Coins and other jackpots.

    Power Combo Bonus

    Multiple Lollipops can be drawn each round, making it possible for two or even all three bonuses to be triggered at the same time. This leads to the “Power Combo” Bonus, which will implement the corresponding multipliers to the Hold & Link minigame, potentially skyrocketing your wins.

    Upsizer

    While Candy Combo Power Combo doesn’t allow you to use the Buy Bonus in the base game, it unlocks a special option once when any bonus (except the full Power Combo trio) is triggered.

    If you trigger a standalone bonus, you’ll be offered a chance to buy one or both of the remaining bonus mechanisms. If you’ve activated a Power Combo Duo (e.g. Collector + Connector), you can purchase the last remaining bonus.

    How to Win at Candy Combo Power Combo

    This jackpot slot features 20 fixed paylines and is played on a small 3x5 grid. Regular wins pay from left to right when you have at least three or more symbols of the same kind on adjacent reels.

    However, the biggest “payer” in Candy Combo Power Combo are cash prizes with modifiers in the Hold & Link bonus round, which takes place in an expanded 5x5 field.

    Candy Combo Power Combo RTP & Volatility

    This game is fair but highly volatile as you’ll be drawing a total of 14 symbols on only three rows and five reels. Fortunately, bonus triggers are frequent, so the RTP of 96.20% Slingshot Studios advertises is credible.

    Final Verdict

    While I immensely enjoyed testing Candy Combo Power Combo, I understand it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

    You can upgrade but can’t purchase the bonus, and these can only be triggered randomly with scatters, so the overall experience may vary greatly. When it’s good, it’s amazing, but when it’s bad, it’s super-frustrating because the base game doesn’t leave too much room for big wins.

    On the upside, the bonus hit frequency and RTP values are great, and it’s a beginner-friendly game. The betting range, though quite small, is rich with options, and you can win up to 10,000x at max bet settings. With that in mind, I’ll leave you a link if you wish to demo Candy Combo Power Combo on our website.
