This atypical slot game has seven reels and eight rows. There are no paylines to speak of, since you get to make winning combinations however you choose. The betting range lets people of all budgets try their hand and this game employs both skill and luck. You can stake anywhere from €0.10 to €100 on a single move. In general, your goal is to match three or more gems in a vertical or horizontal line to remove them from the board.
At the top of the reels, you’ll see boxes that display your point score and your cash wins. Underneath that, a goal is displayed, along with your number of moves remaining. The goal is randomized each time you play, as are all the symbols that are placed into the reels. When you want to swap two symbols, simply click on each of them. Keep in mind you can only do this if it will create a line of three or more. If you’re stuck, gems will wiggle in place as a clue.
There are two types of wins in this game – cash and points. Cash prizes are awarded at random when you make a successful combination. Not all wins will award a prize and trying to swap particular symbols doesn’t offer better odds of winning money. When you make a combo, a series of multipliers will appear to determine your wins: 0x, 1x, 3x, 5x, 10x, or 100x. These prizes will be multiplied by your total stake, given that there are no paylines. You only get to keep your cash winnings if you meet the point minimum. Earning points is a challenge of skill rather than luck. In general, matching gems of the same color will award you 10 points apiece.
When you complete a level successfully, you’ll receive 2,000 victory points. You’ll win 500 points for each remaining move at the end of the level. One in four rounds will provide you with double points. Goal symbols and moves are given at the beginning of the round – 19x Peppermints and 17 moves, for example. Triangle candy pieces award 80 points for a match, Grass squares award 125 points for each destroyed, Peppermints award 250 points when they’re eliminated, Chocolates pay 300 points each when they’re broken, and Eggs pay 700 points each when they make it to the bottom reel.
While there aren’t any Candy Prize B.I.G. free spins, the burst feature is an excellent touch. A burst is a symbol that gives you a special move to eliminate multiple pieces or create multiple matches at once. This is especially helpful given the requirements to meet goals. For example, moving eight eggs to the bottom of the reels in just 12 moves is quite difficult – but you’ll lose your cash if you don’t succeed. There are four burst types in total. You can create them yourself, but they will occasionally drop onto the reels from above.
Lining up four matching pieces vertically will create a Rocket burst. It will randomly orient vertically or horizontally. Clicking it will remove all the symbols on that reel or row. If you maneuver four matching symbols into a square, you’ll create an Explosive. This takes out all symbols in a 3x3 grid. Use five symbols to create a T shape – three horizontal and two vertical – to create a Bomb Burst. This eliminates a giant radius of symbols. Finally, line up five pieces for the Super. Swap it with any symbol and all identical symbols will detonate.
The Candy Prize B.I.G. RTP is 96%. This is above average for most video slots, even if they aren’t quite as interactive. The RTP only refers to the chance of winning money while playing – all points depend on skill. There is no listed volatility for this game. Judging from the infrequency and large size of cash wins, it may be highly volatile.
