This new adventure from Hacksaw Gaming follows up on Le Bandit, which was released almost a year ago. But it has a fair share of changes compared to the original, and I’m about to reveal all of them here.

Le Pharaoh takes place somewhere in Egypt. The angry-looking Smokey paces up and down on the screen’s right side. Since old ways die hard, the cartoonish chap wears the pharaoh’s headdress and heka.

An oasis, several palm trees, and pyramid structures line up in the background of this new adventure. It’s the perfect place to ambush unsuspecting tourists, hoping to pull his tricks on them. The last nail to this game’s design is its cultural tune!

Symbols and Payouts

A total of 10 standard symbols complete this game’s paytable. Despite their differences, you need three or more of each to complete a winning combination.

But how do you generate a paying sequence? To do so, match at least 3 symbols along one or all of the 19 paylines, beginning from the furthest left side to the right. Then, find the corresponding payout from the dynamic paytable, representing the currently selected bet!

The specific requirements for completing a winning combo in the base game also apply in the bonus games or free spins.

The low-valued symbols in Le Pharaoh are the 10, which pays 0.1-0.5x, the J and Q, which are worth 0.1-0.6x, and the K and A, which award 0.1-0.7x the stake! Then, the high-paying Hourglass and Crook & Flail award 0.3-1.5x, Eye of Ra and Ankh pay 0.5-2x, and the Scarab is worth 1-3x the bet!

This online slot also boasts a pack of special symbols for its features. Among them is a substituting wild for all the paytable symbols, which also pays 3x for six of them on a line.

Sticky Re-drops

Whenever a paying combination hits, its symbols will stick and award a re-drop. All the winning symbols that stick in this way create Golden Squares on their positions. During the re-drop, the paying symbols extending an existing win combo or creating a new one will also stick and award another re-drop.

The sticky re-drops continue so until no new winning sequences land. The Rainbow and FS symbols that land alongside a sticky winning combo will also stick. But they don’t form Golden Squares.

Golden Riches

If a Rainbow symbol appears on-screen at the end of the Sticky Re-drops, it activates this Le Pharaoh feature. When it happens, all the Golden Squares on-screen will reveal either Silver, Bronze, or Gold Coins and have the chance to display the Pot of Gold, Green, or Golden Clovers.

Bronze Coins have a 0.2-4x bet, Silver Coins have a 5-20x bet, and Gold Coins have 25-500x bet values. The Clover symbols activate after all Coins and special symbols have been revealed.

The Green Clovers multiply the adjacent Coins or Pot of Gold symbols by 2x to 20x. Meanwhile, the Golden Clover multiplies all the Coins or Pot of Gold on the grid with the same value as the Green Clover.

The Pot of Gold symbols activate top-to-bottom, left-to-right after all Clovers have awarded their multipliers. They then collect and store all the Coin values and other Pot of Gold symbols on-screen. When all Coin and Pot of Gold symbol values have been collected, all other Golden Squares activate again, unveiling new symbols, and the process repeats.

Bonus Choice

Hit 3 FS symbols to choose between the Luck of the Pharaoh or the Lost Treasures bonus modes. Meanwhile, 4 FS symbols let you choose between the Super Luck of the Pharaoh or the Super Lost Treasures bonus games.

Luck of the Pharaoh and Super Luck of the Pharaoh

Choosing the Luck of the Pharaoh awards 10 free spins and retains the Sticky re-drops and Golden Riches from the Le Pharaoh base game. Also, all the Golden Squares remain highlighted until the end of the feature, even after being activated by a Rainbow. A further 2 or 3 more FS symbols to receive +2 and +4 free spins, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Super Luck of the Pharaoh awards a variant of the above bonus with 12 free spins. Further, it has better chances of landing higher-value Coins and Pot of Gold symbols. It also guarantees that a Clover appears whenever the Golden Riches activates! You can retrigger more spins like in the regular bonus.

Lost Treasures

The Lost Treasures awards 3 refilling lives. It has Coins, Green and Golden Clovers, a Pot of Gold, and two distinct Stone Tablet symbols. However, the Dead symbols have no effect. Each spin depletes a life, and whenever any non-Dead symbols land, the lives reset to three.

All the Coins & Pot of Gold symbols that land become sticky for the rest of the feature. Meanwhile, the bonus has two Stone Tablets:

• Adding - adds between 1x and 500x values to a random Coin per spin.
• Multiplying - multiplies a random Coin’s value by 2x to 20x per spin.

The bonus ends after 3 spins without a refill or after filling the grid.

Super Lost Treasures

This feature awards a Lost Treasures variant, which guarantees an Adding Stone Tablet on the initial spin. It also has better chances of landing higher-valued Coins and Pots of Gold.

Rainbow Over the Pyramids

Strike 5 FS scatters simultaneously in the Le Pharaoh base game to trigger this Epic Bonus with 12 free spins. It functions just like the Luck of Pharaoh, including how to retrigger, but a Rainbow symbol will land per spin.

Bonus Buy

You can find four options to buy different bonus features from the base game using the “Buy Bonus” option. They cost between 3x and 250x bets, as displayed in the buying panel.

The Final Thoughts

I’m so accustomed to Hacksaw Gaming creating slots with an average amount of features. But this slot's magnitude of in-game bonuses was beyond my comprehension. Or, maybe Hacksaw also wants to fit in the clique of Nolimit City and ELK Studios. In fact, its features were double or triple than those of its Le Bandit predecessor.

If you enjoyed the prequel, you should be thrilled that Le Pharaoh has returned some of the features from before. However, Smokey has advanced his tricks in this new slot, putting it an edge higher than the original.

I’ll not go over the features, as there are many to comprehend. But what I liked the most about this gameplay was its medium volatility, which should be ideal for most players. Further, it has a significant win cap of 15,000 times the stake!
