As you may know, Pragmatic Play fondly makes simplistic games. That’s not about to change in Money Stacks, which adopts a classic and modern styling.

Its backdrop appears to be a giant screen showcasing flashing lights. It gave me the vibes of an exclusive gentleman’s club, with the centrally-placed reels being the centre of attraction. This time, a pop soundtrack replaced the usual jazzy melody, signalling the modern world.

Symbols and Payouts

The reels are adorned with classic symbols such as playing card signs, 7s, and various fruits, totalling eleven basic icons and four specials. 

Primarily, the game pays from left to right on the reels since it uses 4096 ways to win. However, all you have to do is to aim for identical symbols to fall adjacently from the furthest left side, as indicated in the paytable.

That’s all you need to know about the payouts. Oh, and all wins are based on the selected stake.

Most of the payouts in Money Stacks are distinct in symbol pairs. The 9 and 10 pay 0.3-1x, the J and Q award 0.4-1.2x, and the K and A are worth 0.5-1.5x the bet.

It’s worth mentioning that these low-winning symbols form wins with 3+ OAK, unlike the high-valued pair that pays for 2+.

The high-win symbols are the Lemon and Cherries worth 0.2-2x, Grapes and Watermelon worth 0.5-2.5x, and the Red 7 worth 1-5x the bet.

The Triple 7 serves as the scatter, paying 1x, 2x, 3x, and 5x the bet for 3+ and activating a bonus feature. The other symbols are the Wild, Money, and Collect, which are non-paying.       

Money Stacks Slot Bonus Features

A standard Money Collect bonus finds its way to this game, coupled with two free spins, an ante bet, and a buy feature. It makes sense why you could win up to 5,000 times the stake!

Wild Symbol

It appears on all Money Stacks reels except the leftmost one. Although it doesn’t pay, it substitutes for all regular symbols to help complete winning combinations.

Money Collect feature

Whenever the Money symbol lands, it takes a random value between 0.5x and 20x the bet. It can also take the Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots worth 25x, 250x, and 2,500x total bet, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Collect symbol only appears on the 1st and 6th reels. Whenever it lands alongside the Money symbol on the same spin, all the Money values on-screen will be collected and awarded.

Free Spins

This feature starts when you manage at least 3 scatters anywhere on the reels, allowing you to pick one of two free spins before the round starts.

Free Spins with Random Wild Multipliers

If you triggered the bonus with 3 to 6 scatters, you’ll receive 8, 12, 20, and 30 free spins, respectively. Wilds randomly carry 2x, 3x, or 5x multipliers, increasing the number of symbols they substitute with a number equal to the multiplier. As a result, it boosts the number of ways paying sequences are formed.   

On the other hand, 2 to 6 scatters during the bonus will activate +5, +8, +12, +20, and +30 free rounds, respectively. However, the Money Collect can’t trigger during this round.

Bullion Blitz Spins

You trigger the feature with 3 to 6 scatters, awarding 2, 3, 5, or 7 free spins, respectively. During this bonus, only the Money, Collect, and blank symbols spin and can stop. You receive a guaranteed Collect symbol per spin, but this feature cannot be retriggered.

Ante Bet & Buy Feature

The normal Money Stacks bet multiplier is 20x. But doubling it to 40xtriples the chances of winning the free spins. However, the buy feature is disabled when using the ante bet.

You can buy free spins and instantly trigger them from the base game. The prices are 80x, 120x, 200x, and 240x, respectively, for 3, 4, 5, and 6 scatters, after which you pick one of two free spin choices.

How to Win at Money Stacks Slot

Getting a piece of cake in this game shouldn’t be a hustle. Simply match identical symbols on the 6 by 4 reels as identified in the paytable. For the record, with 4096 ways, wins must land sequentially from the leftmost side to the right.

Money-based slots often tend to be about looting a bank or immersing yourself into the filthy, rich piggy world. However, Pragmatic Play opted for a change, making this release one which bridges the classic and modern ages. If you’ve roamed the iGaming world for some time, you know the theme isn’t new.

Frankly saying, even the Money Stacks features and mechanics are pretty standard in a fair share of online slots. However, I didn’t mind them at all.

Fair enough, the Money Collect bonus could lead you to random money awards. However, the jackpots were quite a show, especially the Grand worth 2,500x bet. As if that’s not enough, free spins come with two pick options.

Notably, some players may not appreciate some costly buy options and the variable RTPs. Regardless, it’s workable as it is and should be among your gambling picks.
