ELK Studios has continued its prowess in storytelling and bold creations in this new game. It builds on the quirky parrot adventures from the previous chapters, blending humour, chaos, and a treasure-hunting perspective.

The theme revolves around a mission to reclaim stolen treasure from a space monster that emerged through a black hole. According to the storyline, the fearful four jumped into the vortex quickly before it sealed.

Anyway, as expected, Pirots 4 ships you to the metaverse, presented through a colourful cartoonish design coupled with a lighthearted melody and cheeky effects.

Before you enter the game interface, you must choose between Lost in Space and Frozen Fury space worlds. Once inside, you’ll find a balance between ELK’s trademark display, an immersive background, and a 6x6 gameboard.

Symbols and Payouts

If you’ve played any of the previous Pirots slots, except the Pirots X chapter, you should be familiar with the CollectR technique. The game essentially features four birds that move horizontally ot vertically around the gameboard collecting gems of respective colours and the feature symbols.

The gems in Pirots 4 include:

• Blue: 0.05x to 7.5x bet.

• Green: 0.05x to 10x stake.

• Purple: 0.1x to 15x bet.

• Red: 0.1x to 30x stake.

If you’re wondering, each gem can be upgraded individually to higher payout levels, up to the 7th level. Furthermore, the birds continue to collect the symbols until they can’t collect any more.

Pirots 4 Slot Bonus Features

Prepare to witness a list of features that’s long enough to reach space! If you needed a break, that’s your cue.

Collection Meter

A collection meter above the Pirots 4 gameboard records the collected symbols (gems and wilds) until the birds can’t collect more symbols. But the Yeti doesn’t contribute to the meter during the Yeti snack time feature.

Filling the collection meter adds one pending feature symbol. A maximum of 3 feature symbol releases can be pending and awarded simultaneously.

Corner Bombs

These are in each corner of the space station, with each bomb assigned a random bird’s colour at the beginning of the round and randomised at the start of every free drop.

A bomb activates when a bird collects a symbol above a corner bomb of an identical colour. Meanwhile, the bomb goes off when the birds can’t collect more symbols in Pirots 4. A detonation removes all birds from the grid, all gems within a 3x3 radius, and the connected space station section. The corner bombs enlarge the grid to 8 reels and 8 rows.

Space Station

A space station surrounding the original gameboard has four sections, acting as a tunnel when a detonated corner bomb removes at least one of the sections. A bird can go through a tunnel when it can collect symbols at the entrance and at the end of it. Each tunnel section reveals up to 2 feature symbols, which accumulate as the bird passes by.

A space portal activates in a corner when the gaming grid has reached its maximum size and the space station section in the corner has been removed. Birds can teleport between the space portals if collectable symbols are above two or more portals.

Switcheroo and Power Clash

Now, two adjacent birds that can’t collect more symbols can randomly perform a Switcheroo, switching positions vertically and horizontally on the Pirots 4 grid. They can also randomly trigger a space Switcheroo, which makes one of the birds move to the edge of the gameboard or to the next symbol it can collect in its path.

Meanwhile, 3+ birds in horizontally or vertically adjacent positions that can’t collect more symbols start the Power Clash feature, except during the Frozen Fury coin game. In this feature, birds clash into one symbol position, removing all gems within a 5x5 radius.

Then, the birds fly away from the clash position, automatically collecting or activating the Yeti horn, corner bombs, black hole, coins, bonus, and super bonus symbols along their path. Although gems are also removed along the trajectory, they don’t charge the collection meter.  

Feature Symbols

A feature symbol release happens before a corner bomb detonates, as part of the first free drop in the bonus game or when the birds can’t collect more symbols. The release converts random gems in Pirots 4 into random feature symbols:

• Wild - it substitutes for any gem at its current respective payout level. However, a bird can’t finish collecting symbols on a wild position. Instead, if it ends up on a wild, it moves to an empty position.

• Upgrade - increases the payout level of gems of the same colour as the bird that collected it by 1-3 steps up to level 7.

• Upgrade-All - upgrades all four gems simultaneously by 1-3 steps up to level 7.

• Yeti horn - triggers a pending Yeti snack time feature, which is activated when a bird is unable to collect more symbols.

• Transform - converts a cluster of gems into the same colour as the bird that collected it. May also transform random gems into feature symbols.

• Spacecorn - fills empty grid positions with Spacecorn, enabling the birds to cross empty spaces one time each to reach more symbols.

• Coin - it pays out its value multiplied by the current bet. The MAX WIN coin instantly pays the remaining amount required to reach the top reward.

• Black Hole - triggers the Black Hole feature, which absorbs all the symbols and birds on the gameboard, and then returns them to the grid, but in a different order.

• Bonus and super bonus symbols.

Yeti Snack Time

This Pirots 4 feature has a 4x4 freeze zone, with a 2x2 Yeti in the middle of the zone. All the symbols and birds in the Yeti zone are scared away when the Yeti appears. Any bird that gets removed doubles the Yeti multiplier. The multiplier applies to the collected value of the bird if a bird ends up in the free zone with an accumulated value when its collection is complete.

Furthermore, a snowball feature can randomly start in this feature, simultaneously detonating between 1 and 4 corner bombs. 

Frozen Fury Coin Game

This feature starts when the birds have collected all the collectable symbols during the Spacecorn feature. Once activated, any potentially already activated features are paused. This feature operates on an 8x8 grid, with a free zone and a Yeti. It starts with a bird in each corner and some coins, awarding 3 drops.

The drops reset when one or more coins, birds, or ice bridge symbols land. The birds start collecting coins instantly if they are horizontally or vertically adjacent to each other. The birds can also use adjacent ice bridges to reach more collectable coins.

Bonus & Super Bonus Games

This feature, worth 5 free drops, starts when the birds collect 3 bonus symbols in a Pirots 4 game round. Collecting a bonus symbol during the bonus game awards an additional free drop, except during the Power Clash feature. The regular bonus starts on the current active rows and columns.

The super bonus game starts if one of the 3 bonus symbols is a super bonus symbol. However, this feature starts with an 8x8 grid, and all upgrade symbols upgrade all the gems. Further, the collection meter and gems’ payout levels remain unchanged throughout the feature. Any pending Yeti snack time, corner bomb, or feature symbol release will be active during the initial free drop!

X-iter

This feature lets you buy the Bonus Hunt, Yeti snack time, Frozen Fury, Bonus, and Super Bonus for 3x, 25x, 50x, 100x, and 500x the bet, respectively.

How to Win at Pirots 4 Slot Game

In fact, if you enjoyed the past instalments, then you’re about to encounter another chapter that progresses the sequel’s unbeatable legacy.

However, Pirots 4 may not be everyone’s cup of tea. One of the notable downsides is that, while the features are fun, it could feel overwhelming to keep up with all of them, mainly since they’re not described chronologically in the rules. In other words, players who prefer a more structured experience may not find the features ideal.

Regardless, it’s worth giving it a spin or more. But ensure you take your time exploring the demo and discovering whether the adventures of the flock are worth your time and money, or just for casual fun.
