Alchemy Ways Slot Review

One of the most attractive features of Alchemy Ways is its unique set-up and a massive amount of paylines.

Symbols and payouts

If you are used to a standard 5x3 format then you might be a bit taken aback when you open the Alchemy Ways video slot for the first time. The game’s 6 rows and 10 reels set-up makes for some interesting gameplay and pay-out options.

The symbols on the reels include an alchemist, various potions, an alchemy book, and the usual collection of card numbers. The highest paying standard symbol on the board is the alchemist himself who pays out 25x your stake for a combination of six and 1.5x your total stake for two symbols. The lowest is the number 9 symbol which pays out 0.8x your stake for a combination of six and 0.1x for a combo of two.

There are several bonus symbols in play in the game too which can provide big payouts. The Hand of Alchemy symbol will move across to one reel and duplicate a symbol, while every spin will bring a range of mystery symbols. These can transform at random into any symbol on the board. The biggest payouts come from the scatter symbol - this is a block of gold that pays out 100x your stake if you can land 12 of them on the reels.

Best Alchemy Ways bonus feature

Red Rake Gaming has made sure that there are plenty of Alchemy Ways bonus rounds to keep players entertained. This includes a mix of free spins, multipliers, mystery symbols, and a bonus wheel.

The Alchemy Ways free spins round can take a long time to trigger, but it does come with some nice bonus features that make it worth the wait. To launch it, players must land 10 or more of the free spins symbols on their reels. 10 will trigger 10 free spins, while the maximum amount you can have is 25. There is also a green alchemist symbol which can also add to this count. The number of symbols you have landed on your spin is displayed in a little meter at the side of the screen. Ten may seem like a high number to score but they tend to land in clusters so it’s not too bad.

During the free spins round, an extra reel is added to the slot which contains multipliers. If you have not managed to win at least 12x your stake from the initial free spins offering, you will then be granted four more free spins. While this still doesn’t guarantee you a victory, it is still a good addition and can be very fruitful. Winnings from the free spins are capped at 8,000x and no respins can be triggered.

The other feature on offer here is a bonus wheel. This is triggered whenever you manage to fill the progress bar which is represented by a sand-timer on the right of the reels. The bonus wheel contains a range of multipliers and doubling options. The wheel will continue to spin until you land on the exit symbol - when this happens, all of the accumulated multipliers will be rewarded. This can be very fruitful, especially if you land on the 2x spot which doubles up all of the multipliers on the wheel.

RTP & volatility

The Alchemy Ways RTP is a fairly standard 95.30%, which, while not exactly setting the world on fire, is still okay.  There is no volatility level listed for the slot, though, it is noted that during a trial run the occurrence of the max win (8,000x stake) was 1:2,000,000,000.
