Cat games are one of the most popular land-based slot machines, well-known among gambling enthusiasts, and IGT decided to make an online slot with this theme. This is probably why this IGT-powered slot game is one of the most popular out there, offering you a simple theme and all sorts of special features and gameplay tweaks. The Cats slot, like the name implies, is based on different wild cats, including Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Cheetahs, and Panthers, all in the gorgeous plains of Africa. The reels are set against a beautiful sunset painting, with orange and yellow in the sky and palm tree silhouettes to add that jungle effect. The video slot has the Split Symbols feature that offers higher rewards, Free Spins, Multipliers, and a fantastic Wild. Although you can practice with the demo game, you can also give yourself a jump start by learning how to play this slot in our Cats slot review. The game has 30 adjustable pay lines so that you can select between 1 and 30. These lines are across a 5x3 reel layout, but since there are Split Symbols, you can land up to 10 symbols in a combination instead of five.
The total betting range of the game depends on the pay lines and the line bet you choose, and the latter is between €0.01 and €2,000. This brings the total bet to between €0.30 and €60,000. The Arrow buttons allow you to increase and decrease the bet.
Then, click on Spin for the reels to turn once. The line wins go only from left to right, and when you land a win, it is multiplied by the line bet to give the total payout.
The Cats video slot features the different Wild Cats, offering amazing payouts when you land up to ten of them in a pay line. You can only land between 6 and 10 when there are Split Symbols. The slot also has playing card symbols, but they don't appear as Split Symbols.
J, Q, and K have identical rewards of 100x your line bet for landing five of them on a pay line, while the A symbol offers 200x your line bet.
Moving up to the higher rewards, there is the Cheetah, Leopard, Tiger, and Lion, and they have the same 1000x your line bet when you land ten of them on an active pay line.
The Panther has the most valuable payout among the standard symbols, offering 2,500x your line bet for ten in a winning combination.
The CATS icon is the Wild, and it would give you 10,000x your line bet when you hit five on a pay line. Then, the Paw Print and Double Paw Print are the Scatters.
If you’re impressed by the gameplay of this release, you would be pleased to see the rewards it has hidden. By landing certain symbols, you can trigger these bonuses and enjoy high rewards.
The Wild symbol is CATS and can replace all the symbols except the Paw Print and Double Paw Print. The Wild also counts as double when substituting for all the Wild Cat symbols so that you can expect higher rewards.
Another Cats bonus feature is the Split symbol, which has been mentioned briefly before. This means that one symbol counts as two, and you can identify it when you see two Cats or two Paw Prints in one position as a symbol. They offer you higher rewards when you land them in a winning combination.
The Cats Free Spins feature is unlocked when you have five or six Paw Print symbols on the second, third, and fourth reels. It would give you 5 or 10 Free Spins, and with four on the reels, you get only 2x your total bet. You can land the Double Paw Print symbol too.
The Free Spins game is played with the same bet as the triggering game, and you cannot retrigger the feature.
In our Cats slot review, we found the RTP to be 94.93%. The Cats RTP is a bit underwhelming if you are considering playing this game over a period of time. This volatility is however not announced by the developer.
