    The Fruity Treats Slot Game

Fruity Treats is a beginner-friendly Bonus Buy slot made by Pragmatic Play. Honestly, they impressed me yet again by launching a game that plays, feels, and looks fresh, even though they’re three hundred-something games deep in their track record.

Ambient-wise, I’m more into sci-fi and epic themes and simply adore Pragmatic’s games like Blade & Fangs, The Alter Ego, and the infamous Pompeii Megareels Megaways, but I loved the vibe in Fruity Treats. Even though it mainly revolves around fruits jumping down the 7x7 grid, the retro music felt like an amazing fit.

I’ve been a die-hard sloth enthusiast for over a decade, but my first impression of this slot was that I’d fall in love with it even if I was a first-timer. Its bonus rules are as simple as they come, and even though there are just a handful of special features, they gave me hours of entertainment.

    Symbols and Payouts

An apple a day may keep doctors away, but you’ll want to be drowning in them when playing Fruity Treats. That is the highest-paying symbol in this slot, capable of netting you hundreds of dollars if at least fifteen appear in a block

This game features only seven regular symbols and a scatter symbol that can land on any reel. Below you’ll find the current paytable for $1 wagers:

    • Heart: $0.20 for 5, $20 for 15+ of a kind
    • Orange Triangle: $0.75 for 5, $25 for 15+ of a kind
    • Yellow Coin: $0.30 for 5, $30 for 15+ of a kind
    • Plum: $0.40 for 5, $40 for 15+ of a kind
    • Lemons: $0.50 for 5, $60 for 15+ of a kind
    • Orange: $0.75 for 5, $100 for 15+ of a kind
    • Apple: $1.00 for 5, $150 for 15+ of a kind
    • Scatter: $2.00 for 3, $10.00 for 4, $50 for 5, $200 for 6, $1,000 for 7+

I love that Fruity Treats is an all-rounded slot that virtually any type of player can love. If you’re on a cash-strapped budget, don’t worry - it accepts wagers of merely $0.20. If you’re a high roller, you can bet up to $240 per spin.

Fruity Treats’ top win is 5,000x, meaning that the highest amount of cash you can grab on your luckiest spin is a whopping $1,200,000.

    Fruity Treats Bonus Features

I was half expecting Fruity Treats to be packed with tons of bonus functions after playing dozens of their games over the past 5+ years. Even though there is only one unique feature besides the good old free spins, I’m glad that they’ve put in the time to ensure it was as unique as possible.

In short, Fruity Treats rocks multiplier spots, free spins, and the Bonus Buy function, so let me break down how each of them works.

    Multiplier Spots

As soon as you launch Fruity Treats, you’ll notice that four positions on the playing grid are pulsating in different colors. These are called “multiplier spots”, but they don’t do anything on their own.

It didn’t take long to get my first win, and coincidentally, the block consisted of lemons, one of which was surrounded by a purple circle. Then I saw a little “x10” bubble; the purple spot left a “mark” and moved. As the tumble sequence began, 5 hearts dropped into that same spot, bringing $2.00 to my wallet.

I checked the paytable and realized I should’ve received only $0.20 for that cluster. The circle gave me a neat multiplier, but then I realized there were three others at random places. The purple 10x multiplier is great, but the teal and blue ones are even better, enhancing winnings by 15x and 20x. Red borders are worth “only” 5x, but it can still skyrocket a solid cluster win.

    Free Spins

When it comes to tumbling slots, free spins are very easy to come by. You only need to hit 3 scatters, and the ones that drop on your grid will remain throughout all tumbling sequences.

When I first managed to collect them, I got 10 free spins and noticed a huge gameplay difference - the multipliers “stuck” even after the tumbles. Just as I was about to run out of bonus spins, I got a lucky break and drew 3 more scatters, which increased the counter by +5 spins.

As wins came and went, my multipliers stacked and kept increasing the value of every fruity block I smashed, which is the thing I loved the most about this otherwise ordinary bonus mechanic.

    Bonus Buy

I’m not a huge fan of the “Bonus Buy” feature since it rarely paid itself off, let alone brought an actual win throughout my slot testing experience. I was tempted to use it when I first played Fruity Treats since there were two options available - Free Spins, and Super Free Spins.

The first option is a classic that most Pragmatic games have - if you spend 100x of your current bet, you’re guaranteed at least 3 scatters on the next round. The Super Free Spins, however, cost twice as much but ensure that your starting global multipliers starts at 20x.

How to Win at Fruity Treats

What I loved the most about this slot is that it’s one of the easiest tumblers Pragmatic made so far. It doesn’t have any paylines, and you’ll get a win if the fruits form a block with at least 5 symbols of the same kind.

They’ve also decided to whittle the symbol count to just seven, meaning that you’re almost guaranteed to line up some pocket change with every hand. What’s important is that the wheel will keep turning as long as your fruits match in color - the fact that there are fewer symbol types and fewer matches are needed to score speaks volumes about the quality of Fruity Treats.

Fruity Treats Slot RTP & Volatility

Pragmatic Play rated this game 5/5 on the volatility scale. According to their official paytable sheet, the return-to-player score starts at 96.05% as far as the base game is concerned, increasing to 98.08% if the Buy Bonus was used, and to 96.06% if you’ve opted for the Super Free Spins.

    Final Thoughts

After playing Fruity Treats for a while, I’ve seen it at its worst and finest. I love the moving multipliers and the fact that you don’t have to be super-lucky to get a decent win even at the lowest of wagers. I also adore the nostalgic music and that the visuals feel fresh even though the theme is widely overused in the iGaming space.

I don’t like that Pragmatic is teasing us with such a good game and the fact that it won’t come out until May this year. The lack of progressive jackpots isn’t too bad, but I probably won’t stick too long with this game since this vendor already offers dozens of amazing games with such a feature.

Overall, I’d rather play Fruity Treats for fun than for real cash, but only because I’m not overly fond of high-volatility slots. If you have a knack for risk and danger, you’ll probably feel right at home.
