I’m so used to Hacksaw Gaming's top-of-the-class designs that I had to pause and confirm whether this game was indeed from the studio or an affiliate. That’s because it features arcade-style, low-quality graphics, yet it’s not a vintage game.

The Jaws of Justice appeared more like Push Gaming’s Razor Shark, but with a Sci-Fi, extraterrestrial focus. However, it takes place deep within the cosmos, with bold yellowish, reddish, and purplish colours painting the background. An electric melody completes the futuristic atmosphere.

Nothing about the user interface is new. The 5x4 reels sit in the middle of the screen, while the control panel sits at the bottom.

Symbols and Payouts

Like many other Hacksaw releases, this video slot features 10 regular symbols, each displayed in the paytable alongside its payout value. The Jaws of Justice consists of 14 paylines that guide you on how to align the winning symbols.

A combination of 3 or more matching symbols aligned adjacent along the predefined paylines will trigger a payout. The win equals the paytable value multiplied by the selected stake.

Whenever a Laser Shark hits a Force Field straight on, it’ll bounce back the same way it came from, adding multipliers to the transformed wilds. If a laser hits a Laser Shark symbol, it transforms into a Wild with a multiplier.

I’ve never thought that I’d say this, but I’m convinced that Hacksaw Gaming was interested more in a filler game this time than something more meaningful and intentional. The outcome? A futuristic slot donning arcade-style graphics that made it less interesting, especially in the modern age, where every gaming studio strives to use premium and polished designs.

Even so, the Jaws of Justice featured an original subject about deranged sharks seeking justice deep in the galaxy. Surprisingly, the apex predators had long since hunted their planet to extinction and have turned their focus to the cosmos.

Anyway, the gameplay was fascinating, with specks of the Beam Boys coming to life through the Laser Shark symbols. However, this time, the lasers are shot in three directions, transforming the affected symbols into wilds and awarding multipliers. The action progressed into the bonus rounds, making the gameplay more engaging and worthy of the 10,000x bet win cap.

While the game's visuals are unattractive, its gameplay is much more engaging, making it worth experiencing.
