The Final Thoughts

Mahjong may have been developed in the 19th century, but I guess it’s still popular to the extent that it inspires tens of online slots in the 21st century. For instance, this Pragmatic Play release comes after Mahjong Wins 3 - Black Scatter, Mahjong Wins 2, and Mahjong Wins. And I feel this isn’t the last instalment within the series.

Yet, that’s a small portion of slots inspired by the game, since developers like PG Soft, Spadegaming, and Microgaming also have games themed around it.

The Mahjong Wins Super Scatter does little to stand out from the rest. Its top-quality but generic design is the same as that of almost all Mahjong releases. In fact, I think Mahjong X, which is also a Pragmatic release, looks way more immersive.

Now, the gameplay may only appeal to anyone who hasn’t gambled on the previous Mahjong Wins releases. That’s because its features are reskinned from Mahjong Wins 3 - Black Scatter. The tumbles, reel and win ways configuration, paytable, and features are what enthusiasts experienced before.

Even the Super Scatter, which replaced the Black Scatter, appeared and added a bonus feature. Oh, and the theoretical RTP has reduced slightly. I think it isn’t a game I’d want to return to.
