Mummy’s Jewels Slot Review

The Mummy’s Jewels Slot Game

Pragmatic Play can be annoyingly generic at times, especially with their designs. However, this trip to ancient Egypt doesn’t embrace the typical pyramids on a bare desert land or in a tomb background. Instead, it presents a luscious side of the expansive desert.

The Mummy’s Jewels sits in the heart of an oasis surrounded by palm trees that thrive on loose desert sand and towering dunes. A stagnant water mass forms the foot of the stone-crafted 5x3 reels. The top-quality design and culturally inspired soundtrack will undoubtedly implore many Egyptian fans.

A massive spinning wheel of fortune pops above the reels, behind the wild collection points and jackpot displays. Meanwhile, the control panel at the bottom isn’t cramped with buttons, making it easy to remember and navigate.

Symbols and Payouts

Low and high—paying symbol categories sprout from eleven regular symbols, displayed in the paytable. When playing, it’s advisable to consult the paytable for the payout for the winning symbol combination.

Now, since the slot has 243 ways to win, wins are awarded for left-to-right adjacent symbol combinations. Simply, hit 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel.

All the prize values displayed in the paytable change according to the selected bet.

Mummy’s Jewels uses the usual Jack, Queen, King, and Ace letters for the low-paying category. These are worth 0.07x, 0.13x, and 0.33x the bet for 3 O-A-K. Then, the high-paying symbols are ranked as follows:

• Urn, Scroll, and Ankh - 0.07x, 0.13x, and 0.67x the bet.
• Horus, Anubis, and Bastet - 0.13x, 0.27x, and 1.33x the stake.
• Cleopatra - 0.67x, 1.33x, and 5x the bet.

This video slot also has Red, Purple, and Green Diamonds that act as wild symbols and appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, respectively. These substitute for all the symbols except the Money and Collect symbols.

Mummy’s Jewels Slot Bonus Features

Apart from a money collection feature, you get features triggered by wilds and bonus buy options for the respins.

Money Collect

The Money symbol can only appear on the three middle reels in Mummy’s Jewels. It takes a random value between 10 and 1500 times the bet/line whenever it hits. It can also take the 12x bet (Mini), 300x bet (Major), 1000x bet (Mega), and 10000x bet (Grand) prizes.

Every time the Collect symbol appears on the leftmost reel alongside Money symbols on adjacent reels from the 2nd onwards, it collects and pays the connected Money values.

Features Triggered by Wilds

Any wild symbol that hits will accumulate into the corresponding pot above the reels. Different features can be triggered at random whenever a collection happens:

• Purple Wild -  triggers the Upgrade Feature in Mummy’s Jewels. A wheel of fortune awards money values and award names after random slices, except those with jackpots, are upgraded with random amounts between 50 and 1000 times the bet/line.
• Green Wild - triggers the Extra Feature. First, the game randomly selects 1 to 3 Wheel of Fortune pointers. Then, the wheel spins and awards the amounts where the pointers are.
• Red Wild - starts the Respins Feature. Before the feature begins, a wheel containing between 5 and 50 respins stops and awards the respins displayed by the pointer for the following round.

The Purple and Green Wilds can hit simultaneously in Mummy’s Jewels, but the Upgrade feature plays before the Extra feature.

Respins Feature

Reel 1 will be full of Collect symbols during this feature, while the rest have Money symbols and Blanks. After every respin, the adjacent Money symbol values from reel 2 will be collected. Also, after every re-spin, a random x2 to x10 multiplier will apply to every Money symbol collected on that respin.

When all the Wilds hit simultaneously, the Upgrade feature plays first, then the Extra, and finally, the Respins.

Buy Bonus

The Mummy’s Jewels lets you instantly trigger the respins from the base game in two ways:

• For 50x the bet, you trigger the Respins feature alongside the Upgrade and/or Extra features.
• For 100x the stake, you get a Combo with guaranteed Respins, Upgrade, and Extra features triggered simultaneously.

How to Win at Mummy’s Jewels Slot

This video slot has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 243 ways to win. Winning at it entails hitting 3-plus identical symbols on adjacent reels from the furthest left column to the right.

A ticket to the adventure costs between €0.15 and €240, which should be ideal for every playing budget. Adjust the bets using the “+” and “−” buttons before playing the Mummy’s Jewels reels.

The Spin button fires up a single game round, while the Autoplay lets you play several spins automatically. If you’re playing on a desktop, use the Spacebar/Enter instead of the Spin button.

This game also lets you play the reels faster using the Turbo or Quickspin options. Finally, use the “i” button as your gateway into the paytable and game rules.

Mummy’s Jewels Slot RTP & Volatility

A theoretical RTP of 96.50% awaits you after gambling for a prolonged period. However, it changes insignificantly to 96.51% when using the Combo Respins. With high volatility, it awards up to 10,000x the stake!

The Final Verdict

Pragmatic Play is indeed a jack of all trades. It’s well known for constantly releasing games (at least two weekly), creating the longest online slot franchise, and having a good slot selection, in general. However, it seems the self-imposed standards get the best of the team, forcing them to keep up with their fans’ expectations.

Hence, games like Mummy’s Jewels. Well, there’s no lie that it assumes a premium production, thanks to the high-end cartoonish visuals and ambient, cultural sounds. But the Egyptian theme, one of the most exploited in the iGaming scene, disqualifies it from standing out.

Now, the gameplay had a few surprises, but in a good way. First, at least you can win money prizes, even in the base game. However, the adjacent symbol collection mechanism was prominent in games like Wild Wild Pearls (Pragmatic Play catalogue) and Wild Wild Joker (Pragmatic Play catalogue).

Then, the feature-triggering wilds randomly activate the Upgrade, Extra, and Respin features, adding an element of surprise. The features were exciting, to say the least. But again, seeing the ‘Combo’ component reminded me of games like Dungeons & Dragons Power Combo (Triple Edge Studios catalogue).

In conclusion, the gameplay doesn’t adopt the usual free spins. Regardless, it offers a sumptuous 10,000 times the bet win cap and isn’t a direct clone of a previous experience. That is an optimistic take, making it worth a spin or two. But whether it’ll come on top of the thousands of Egyptian-themed slots is wishful thinking.
