How to play

This Relax Gaming slot has a fairly traditional layout including five reels with four rows each, and 50 paylines. You cannot change the number of paylines in play - it is always set at 50. This makes the game relatively simple to play.

Symbols and payouts

There is also a wild symbol which is represented by a battlefield cannon, a scatter symbol which is a portrait of Josephine herself, and the special symbol of Napoleon.

To calculate your winnings, this video slot game uses the following formula - Total bet amount/number of paylines x paytable amount. Also, payouts are calculated from left to right and only include adjacent reels except for the Napoleon symbol.

The basic card suit symbols all provide a multiplier of either 15, 25, or 150 for three, four, or five symbols respectively. Moving up, the three items of jewelry provide either a 25, 50, or 300 multiplier for three, four, or five symbols respectively. The highest standard paying symbol is Napoleon’s mansion which gives a multiplier of 30, 120, or 500, for three, four, or five respectively. As a result, the largest potential single payline win is €1,000 (A bet value of €100 / 50 paylines x 500 for 5x Mansion symbols). This game also features a cannon wild symbol - this substitutes for any symbol except Josephine.   

Finally, there is the special Napoleon symbol. This appears at random on all five reels, and has its own payout. Three symbols has a multiplier of 40, four has a multiplier of 150, and five gives a huge multiplier of 750. This is the highest potential win of the game at €1,500 from a €100 bet.

The best feature of the Napoleon & Josephine slot is the free spins you can win. The free spins are activated by the Josephine scatter symbol. This symbol can appear on any reel in any position before a spin is initiated. There is the basic Josephine scatter symbol and five variations - each with a different number from 2 through to 50.

To start, you earn free spins if you get three or more Josephine scatter symbols. Three symbols get 10 free spins, four get 20 free spins, and five get 50 free spins.

However, you can earn additional free spins if any of the scattery symbols have numbers on them.
