In readiness for Halloween, TaDa Gaming has set this game with a gothic theme, which starts with a filmic introduction. That’s the moment it dawns on you that the undead hunter means business by annihilating a ghoul, a werewolf, and a vampire with his trusty weapons.
After moving past the cinematic intro, Nightfall Hunting proceeds to the main screen, which includes a horrific night resting under the bright crescent moon. Several suspicious towers point to the partly cloudy skies while the undead hunter stands beside the dark reels.
He’s armed with a sword and mysterious potions, ready for the hunt. The ominous soundtrack and effects leave you in suspense amid the darkness. To be clear, however, it’s a straightforward experience for beginners and experienced players alike.
Only the animations and sound effects evoke a hair-raising aura. As for the paytable, it includes symbols that most enthusiasts have undoubtedly encountered before in other slots.
The paytable consists of nine primary symbols to help you secure winning combinations. All you have to do is align them along the valid paylines indicated in the paytable. So, ensure you consult the table for every winning symbol combination alongside the corresponding win.
For the record, you can also test out the demo play linked here for free to acquaint yourself with the gameplay!
The low-priced symbols in Nightfall Hunting include the Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, worth 0.2x to 3x the bet. Then, the medium symbols are the Potion, Stake & Hammer, and Bible, worth 0.4-4x, 0.6-6x, and 0.8-8x the bet, respectively.
The premium symbols are the Pink Star and Treasure Chest, which pay 1-12x and 2-20x the stake, respectively.
Surprisingly, the Vampires, Werewolf, and Ghoul monsters become your foes in the paytable, as they serve as the Wilds. They substitute for any other symbol except the scatter and ExMatch symbols to complete the paytable potentially.
Unlike the stoic hunter who uses actual weapons, yours is to hunt down the Undead Wilds, Horror, and free spins for significant payouts. Remember, you can win up to 10,000 times the bet!
The Undead Wild (Vampire, Werewolf, and Ghoul) appear as 4-row high symbols only on the 2nd to 4th reels. They’ll always nudge to become fully visible whenever they land and increase the winning multiplier by one per nudge.
Multiple wild multipliers are additive to create a total wild multiplier. It applies to all Nightfall Hunting wins created by the wilds’ help.
The ExMatch symbol only appears in the 1st and 5th columns. If ExMatch symbols land on both reels in the main game, they trigger the Horror feature. When triggered, this feature transforms all low-paying symbols on the middle three reels into wilds.
Land 3 scatters to trigger 6 Eclipse Free Spins. At least one Undead Wild will land per spin, and the ExMatch can only land on the leftmost and rightmost reels. Every Exmatch symbol that lands will award a +1 spin.
Further, landing the ExMatch simultaneously on both the 1st and 5th columns will upgrade the feature to Eclipse Horror free spins. Consequently, you receive +2 free spins, and the ExMatch symbols become sticky.
You can trigger this feature by landing 2 ExMatch symbols and 3 scatters in the Nightfall Hunting main game. Or by landing 2 ExMatch symbols in the Eclipse Free Spins. It awards 8 free spins when activated in the main game and at least one Undead Wild land per spin.
The ExMatch stays locked during the feature, triggering the Horror feature for every spin. Meanwhile, all the low-paying symbols on the middle three reels become wilds.
The slot interface presents a distinctive game layout of 5 reels and 3-4-4-4-3 rows. However, there are only 30 fixed paylines.
So, winning should be conventional in that you match three or more identical symbols along the predefined paylines and on adjacent reels, beginning from the leftmost reel to the right.
Since gambling is a risk, set an ideal bet between the €0.10 and €100 values based on your gambling budget. But if you’re lucky enough, Nightfall Hunting could see you multiplying your selected bet up to 10,000 times!
The Spin button is your key to triggering a game round. However, you can also preselect auto-spins to start automatically and limit them using several auto-play settings. Further, the Lightning Bolt button changes between fast and slow game speeds, while the rotary sign reveals the sound and info options.
You can’t miss to notice the above-average RTP of 97%. Further, the slot uses a high volatility model with a win cap of 10,000 times the stake!
I haven’t reviewed many slots from TaDa Gaming, but having reviewed this slot and 3 Lucky Piggy, I am confident it's an under-appreciated game developer. As for now, let me narrow my reasoning to this eerie slot.
First, its visuals are by far among the most realistic I’ve encountered in this year’s Halloween releases. From the cinematic introduction to the animations, on-screen symbols and sounds, it was a completely immersive experience. I recommend using a set of headphones for the ultimate experience.
As for the features, they were pretty interesting—not hair-raising, but fascinating. The nudging wilds offered extra winning chances and boosted wins using their increasing multipliers. Then, the Horror symbols triggered symbol conversions, while the free spins combined all the wild-based features.
Beyond the intriguing aspects, Nightfall Hunting offered non-adjustable paylines and limited Autoplay. However, those shouldn’t deter you from trying this spine-chilling experience since it provides a lucrative win cap of 10,000 times!
