How to play 

One thing to note here is that this Pigsy slot is relatively seamless to understand and play. It joins other SimplePlay slots to offer a 3x5 set up – 3 rows and 5 reels – and 243 ways to win. The ways to win is where this game performs its wonders. As with all games, you start playing by clicking the Big Red 'Spin' button just at the foot of your screen. 

There's the 'Max Bet' button to the left of the spin button and the 'Autoplay' button to the right. The Autoplay button helps you spin automatically up to 1,000 spins. The Red setting button is where you adjust your bet, as all wins are multiplied with the coin bet except for the Scatter wins. 

You can bet between $0.30 and $150 per spin, and each game is played for 30x your selected bet. Any standard and card symbols can be used just once for a winning combination, and only the top win on any symbol combination is rewarded. Only one symbol from a reel will be part of each winning. 

We find the gameplay more suited to desktop play, as the 'Max bet' function is not available on mobile play. 

Symbols and payouts

The game features the full suite of Standard and Special paying symbols. The standard symbols on the reels include Pigsy, who pays 500x coins for 5 matching symbols on a line. There's the Asian Pasta and Pork that both pay 100x coins for 5 of a kind wins.

For 5 of a kind landing together, the Gold-plated Asian kettle and Asian Snacks each award 80x coins. A and K card symbols attract 75x coins for 5 on a line, while Q and J attract 60x. Both the 10 and 9 card symbols each pay 50x coins for 5 matching symbols on a line. 

The Ancient Pigsy is the Wild symbol that substitutes all other symbols to form winning combinations except the Scatter. 

The Chinese Moon Goddess is the Scatter symbol that rewards you for landing it anywhere on the reels. This Scatter pays 3x, 10x, or 30x your bet for 3, 4, or 5 appearing together, respectively. Asides from the Scatter symbol, all other symbols pay left to right on adjacent reels. Based on our gameplay, the maximum payout we got on this slot is 7,500x your bet.  

Pigsy Bonus Feature 

Most Chinese-themed slots are usually designed to offer some high perks to players in bonus features. The Pigsy bonus features are not exactly sterling, but they are decent enough to enhance gameplay. 

The first is the Free Game feature that comes to life upon landing at least 3 Chinese Goddess scatter symbols. In addition to rewarding you separately, these symbols will kick start this feature. So, for 3 Scatters on the screen you are awarded 8 Pigsy free spins. Once you exhaust the Free Game feature, you cannot reactivate more free spins.

Up next is the Expanding Reels feature that plays out during the Free Game feature. What this feature entails is that the reels and number of ways to win will increase. Hence, with 2 to 6 Scatter symbols, the reels increase to accommodate 4 rows and 1,024 ways to win. 7 Scatters and above will have the reels expand to contain 5 rows with 3,125 ways to win. The increased rows and ways to win could help you win big. 

RTP and Volatility 

Pigsy RTP is pegged at 96.05%, right on the average mark for slot games. The slot comes with very high volatility, which means you could win pretty massive amounts, but that will not happen regularly.
