How to play

Sands of Space plays just like any other online slot game. It has 5 reels and 3 rows, with 20 paylines in total. The paylines all payout from left to right and if multiple paylines are achieved in one spin, the payout of each individual payline is added together.

The number of paylines is variable, so you can select how many of the 20 paylines you want to play. The cost of each spin increases with each additional payline that is activated.

Symbols and payouts

The symbols in Sands of Space slot are all based on the same kind of images you might see in an Ancient Egypt-themed slot, like scarabs, jackals, or cats. Of course, they are all sci-fi versions of the same pictures!

From the lowest value to the highest value, the symbols in the game include the card suite symbols J, Q, K, and A in a hieroglyphic style, followed by a purple Jackal vase, green bottles, a floating metal sphere, a red urn, a metallic scarab, and a black and gold cat statue.

The highest payout is a 500x payout from five of the Cat symbol! The second-highest payout is 350x from five of the Scarab symbol.

The last two symbols in the game are the Wild and Scatter symbols. The Wild symbol shows Anubis, while the Scatter symbol shows a futuristic pyramid. Five Scatter symbols pay out only 30x. However, this payout is separate from other payline wins and the Scatter symbol also has other bonuses.

Best Sands of Space bonus feature

There are two Sands of Space bonus features of note. The first one is known as the Wild Double High, where the Wild symbol substitutes any other symbol in the game. The other one is a Feature Game.

When three or more Feature Scatter symbols appear on the board at the end of the spin, the Feature Game is activated. Several objects are shown on the screen and you can pick one or more at random. Each one will give a random cash prize.

When you’re done selecting the prizes, simply select ‘Collect’ to end the Feature Game. The payout is proportional to the original bet made before the Feature Game started. The more you play the feature game, the higher the rewards, up to 21,500x.

The Sands of Space RTP is 96.07%, which is fairly good. It is definitely above the industry standard of 94-96%. The volatility of Sands of Space is only moderate. Overall, the theme of the game is interesting but the visuals would look better with some more flashy effects. However, the RTP and bonuses are quite good.
