The tranquil oriental music greatly adds to the charm of the Temple of Paw, although the background track is a bit quieter than the sounds of spinning reels.

Temple of Paw has a few bonuses that are commonly present in most tumbling slots, such as ascending multipliers and free spins. My favorite feature of this game is the Free Spins Gamble, which allows you to stake your current scatters for a chance of earning more. Let’s see how they work in action. 

Cascading Reel Multipliers

Temple of Paw utilizes the cascading reels mechanic, in which all winning symbols are replaced with new ones, triggering a partial respin. Whenever your reels “tumble”, you’ll earn a +1 global multiplier, which applies to subsequent wins. 

Free Spins

You can earn free spins in this game by drawing Cat Scatter symbols. Three scatters award 7 free spins; four scatters give 10; five scatters give 15, and six scatters will award you 22 free spins. 

The Cascading Reel Multipliers mechanic is slightly better during this bonus round. Instead of netting a +1 multiplier for every tumble, you’ll receive a +1 multiplier for every symbol that is removed from the table.

Free Spins Gamble

The famous “Ante” feature that is present in many video slots usually allows you to stake your current winnings for a chance of doubling them. The Free Spins Gamble is a feature that works almost the same, but instead of wins, you’re gambling your free spins count.

How to Win at Temple of Paw

Temple of Paw features 20 fixed paylines, and symbols always pay from left to right. The cascading reel mechanic may allow you to line up additional wins as all symbols from the winning combination disappear and are replaced with new ones. 

This is one of the few scenarios where a solid bonus hit frequency may adversely impact the base game. Namely, since the playing field is as small as 3x5, bonus scatters are always getting in the way if only 1 or 2 appear. My tests have confirmed that this game deserved its super-high volatility rating. Even the lowest minor symbol wins are quite high compared to the industry’s average.

This slot is an extremely volatile one, which somewhat surprised me considering that there are only 8 paying symbols and Wilds. Temple of Paw’s RTP is 96%, which is a bit higher than average. 

Final Verdict

Temple of Paw is a decent game, but it doesn’t bring too many novelty features that would allow it to compete with more nuanced slots. It doesn’t have a jackpot, and if you’re not drawing any free spins, you’re essentially staking all your chips on cascading reels. 

I love the Free Spins Gamble feature, but I’d love to see bonus triggers that can bring a bit of randomness into the mix.
