As its name probably suggests, Deep Blue is set right at the bottom of the ocean. An aquatic backdrop, complete with sea-creatures and a fun soundtrack makes for a pleasant, and almost calming, gambling experience. The first thing you will notice here is that the slot doesn’t offer the standard set-up, instead, the action takes place on a 4x4 grid.
There are also plenty of chances of scoring a win, with the slot offering a higher than average 256 different ways to win. If you want to just enjoy the scenery, you can always use the autospin option that the slot provides. This is not adjustable though, so you have to stop it yourself when you want the spins to end.
To get started, you will need to adjust your stake using the +/- buttons located under the reels. The minimum you can bet here is €0.20, while the maximum is €100. You can also access the paytable with ease by clicking on the clamshell in the corner. If you want to get used to the game before you go diving for real-money, then you can give the Deep Blue demo we have provided here a free spin.
As far as symbols go, Felix Gaming has kept things very basic here. The highest paying symbol in the game is the wild symbol. As well as substituting for all other symbols in order to make winning combinations, the symbol also pays out 500x the total stake for a combination of four. It pays out 8x for three, 4x for two, and 2x for one.
Next up is a cannon. This pays out 40x for four, and 4x for three. It is worth noting that due to the smaller size of the reels, all of the symbols, except for the wild, only pay out for combos of four and three. Next up is a fish, a sea-horse, a sword, and a skull, all of which pay out 5x for four and 0.5x for three. The lowest paying symbols are a jellyfish, a starfish, some coral, and a message in a bottle. These pay just 0.5x for combos of four, and 0.25x for combos of three.
One area where Deep Blue is lacking is in the bonus features. Simply put, there aren’t really any here. The closest thing we get to a Deep Blue bonus feature is the aforementioned big payouts for wild symbols. Also the symbols can land stacked across the reels which can lead to some hefty payouts on the screen.
Felix Gaming has listed the Deep Blue RTP as 95.78%. The volatility for the slot is listed as 3/5, which would be classed as medium. During our playthrough for this Deep Blue review, we found that wins didn’t come by very often. The lack of bonuses or a Deep Blue free spins mode meant that we never really had big winning sequences or hit big wins in the base game.
