Aspect Gaming is not a hugely well-known developer but the company shows that they know how to get the basics right with the Dou Di Zhu slot. The game has a simple but efficient design, with a traditional Asian house creating the backdrop. The whole thing is kept static, with no animations or displays of visual flair to liven up the action. 

The slot unfolds across five reels, each with three rows. There are 243 ways to win that are active on every spin, which is one of the game’s more notable features. To select the stake, players will need to choose a multiplier value. This is then multiplied by 25 to create your total stake. The minimum multiplier amount is €0.01, giving a minimum bet of €0.25, while the maximum multiplier value is €3.50, totaling an €87.50 maximum bet. This is a slightly strange betting range but one that is probably going to appeal more to those on a higher budget. 

We also tested out the Dou Di Zhu on mobile devices and found it to be an enjoyable experience. The mobile game replicates the desktop version and is best experienced when played in landscape mode. 

Symbols and Payouts 

All wins in the game are paid out as multiples of the bet multiplier amount. The game’s main character is the highest paying symbol in the game, he pays out 2,000x your multiplier for combinations of five, combinations of four pay 1,000, and three pay 500x. These are followed by the younger male character who pays 1,500x for five and a golden treasure chest who pays 1,000x for three. After this, the final two higher paying symbols are an instrument and a bag of gold that pay 500x the bet multiplier and 150x respectively. 

The Ace is the highest of the royal symbols, it pays 150x for five. The King and Queen follow, both paying 100. Finally, the Jack and 10 pay out 75x for five, 20x for four, 10x for three, and 5x for two. 

Best Dou Di Zhu Bonus Feature

There is not a huge amount of Dou Di Zhu bonus rounds on offer. The main feature in the game is a bonus spins round. This is triggered in the traditional way - with players needing to land three or more scatters on the reels. 

Landing three scatters will reward 15 bonus spins, four will give you 20, and five will give you 25. During these Dou Di Zhu bonus spins, there will be a 2x multiplier added to any wins you secure using wild symbols. You can land a maximum of 4x multipliers on your reels during this round. The slot will also allow you to retrigger bonus spins by landing extra scatter symbols during the round. 

RTP & Volatility

The numbers for Dou Di Zhu are not the most encouraging or generous. The Dou Di Zhu RTP is a very underwhelming 93.98%. We couldn’t find any volatility information available for the slot when we were researching for this Dou Di Zhu slot review. The game itself was fairly repetitive, with few big wins coming our way and the lack of bonus features damaging the overall fun of the slot.
