Fruit Flash is a Megaways game equipped with simple but very munificent bonus features. It’s a bit different from typical Megaways games because it has 243 fixed ways to win, but it’s also far from most fruit games I’ve played with remarkably frequent respins and a unique bonus game. 

Drawing inspiration from the old-school disco era, Red Tiger gave Fruit Flash perfect graphics and music. The strobing neon lights, smooth guitar riffs popping whenever you get a respin, and the overall ambiance are simply captivating. 

Symbols & Payouts

Fruit Flash features 10 paying symbols, including 5 minor card symbols and 5 fruits. Like most fruit slots, even the basic wins are generous, so let’s check out their pay rates:

• 10s, Js, and Qs: 0.5x for three-of-a-kind, 1x for four, 1.5x for five;

As with most Red Tiger games, the wagering range in Fruit Flash is a bit narrow at €0.20-8. However, the top win of 10,632x is very good in my opinion, allowing you to reap up to €85,056 on your luckiest spins. 

Fruit Flash Bonus Features

One of the things about Fruit Flash I love the most is how organically all its bonus features mesh in a harmonious system. 

Everything revolves around the highlighted central field - running a winning combination through it gives respins; collecting at least 6 symbols through the central reel gives instant prizes, and collecting at least 18 triggers free spins. Let me elaborate on how these bonus triggers function.

Respins 

As soon as you boot up Fruit Flash, you will see that the central position is bordered with a bright orange color. This is the “bonus” position, which will expand to cover the entire reel as soon as any winning combo goes through it. Additionally, a free respin will be triggered. 

Prize Ladder

Every winning symbol that passes through the bonus position (later the “bonus reel” when it expands) will be collected. You’ll win an instant cash prize depending on how many symbols are counted at the end of the round, starting from 6 and going up to 60. The ladder features prizes from 2x of your current bet to a whopping 2,500x. 

Free Spins

There are no scatters in Fruit Flash. You’ll trigger free spins by collecting at least 18 symbols on the Prize Ladder (meaning that you are also guaranteed to bag at least 10x of your current bet). 

The bonus round begins with 10 free spins, but instead of a singular central bonus position, each spin will start with the entire bonus reel. A respin will be triggered whenever a win goes through the central reel, and all prizes on the Prize Ladder will be doubled (from 4x to 5,000x). 

Bonus Buy

You can purchase free spins, but since there are no scatters, the game will be “forced” to help you string at least 18 winning combinations through the central reel. The Bonus Buy feature costs 90x, but as I mentioned, you’re guaranteed a prize of 10x on the ladder, not to mention that you are guaranteed several winning combinations until 18 (or more) are collected. 

That being said, there’s always a degree of risk that the lowest-paying 10s, Js, or Qs will run through the central reel as threes, in which case I’d argue that the Bonus Buy is quite expensive.

How to Win at Fruit Flash

This Red Tiger slot features 243 fixed pay lines, which pay left to right whenever symbols of the same suit are adjacent as threes or more. The free cash from Prize Ladder and frequent respins will keep you afloat while you’re pursuing free spins, which skyrocket the bonus hit frequency and offer the biggest winning potential.

Fruit Flash Slot RTP & Volatility

Red Tiger states that the RTP of this game is 95.71% and its volatility is high. However, I’d argue its theoretical returns are much higher and volatility not as unpredictable since there are no bonus symbols.  

Final Verdict

Even though I’m not a huge fan of fruit slots, I’m completely enamored with Fruit Flash. Testing this game was a blast, and I’m eager to play it for real cash in proper online casinos.
