Midas Golden Touch 2 follows the path of its predecessors by incorporating the mythology of King Midas and his magical touch.
From the start, the graphics look similar to the original Midas Golden Touch but with a more royal and refined touch. It happens in a lustrous courtyard with glossy floors, towering pillars, hanging banners, and potted plants. A majestic soundtrack and effects complement the overall display of royalty.
The reels are at the centre of the screen, bordered by the control panel below it and a few other buttons on the top right-hand side. So, it should be effortless to get around.
Of course, when you have a game inspired by the legendary King Midas, everything should be glossy and golden. Maybe the only uncreative aspect of the paytable is the adoption of classic card ranks.
For the avoidance of doubt, winning combinations are only formed along the 15 paylines if they are in sequence from the leftmost position to the right without gaps.
When playing, you can view the paytable to acquaint yourself with the winning patterns and every symbol payout based on the current stake. For the record, you need 3 or more identical symbols in Midas Golden Touch 2 to complete wins!
I’ll start the listing this time with the Magical King Midas’ Hands serving as the wild. They substitute for any symbol except the Palace Door scatter. Not to forget, the wild and scatter have unique functions, which I’ll discuss further below.
Three or more 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A royal cards pay the low-valued wins worth up to 5x, 5.5x, 6x, 6.5x, 7x, and 7.5x the total bet, respectively.
The high-priced symbols include the Treasure Chest, Goblet, Golden Crown, and King Midas’s portrait. These pay significantly higher wins of up to 15, 20, 25, and 75 times the bet, as listed.
Most of the features from the original slot reappear in this sequel. However, a few add-ons should undoubtedly be a game-changer in this new adventure!
For the record, 3+ wild symbols can form paying sequences worth the same as the most valuable King Midas image. Any payline with 1 to 5 wilds grants x2, x4, x8, x16, and x32 multipliers, respectively.
This bonus can randomly start during the Midas Golden Touch 2 base game. When active, it adds between 1-3 scatters or 1-9 wilds to the reels in random positions. However, it’s only available in the base game.
Manage 3, 4, or 5 scatters to trigger 8, 10, and 12 free spins! Any win during the bonus game triggers a Sticky Respin, where any paying symbols in a payline will be locked, while the rest of the symbols respin.
Further, an Epic Wild appears on the reels at the beginning of every bonus spin. It starts with a 2x multiplier and replaces all symbols except the scatter. Collecting 3 scatters fills the meter, doubling the multiplier up to 32x and adding +2 free spins. Any collected scatters persist during the free rounds/respins.
In Midas Golden Touch 2, you can buy the bonus game for 100x the current stake. Then, a spin that starts the feature will trigger with a 94.75% theoretical RTP.
Also, the slot has different BET+ options that guarantee a specified event until the BET+ is deactivated:
Remember that this mobile-ready video slot is available on GoodLuckMate in free demo-play mode. Practising it before spending your money gives you a better understanding of what awaits!
Chasing the golden touch happens on a 5-reel, 3-row platform with 15 unchangeable paylines!
Winning happens when matching symbols appear along 3+ adjacent positions of the predefined paylines, beginning from the leftmost side and towards the right. You win only the longest win per payline.
But you can only uncover treasures in Midas Golden Touch 2 after parting with €0.10 to €100 bets per round.
After every complete spin, you can play every spin manually using the Spin button. Or, avoid constantly clicking the screen by enabling the Autoplay feature, which allows you to gamble several automated rounds.
Finally, you can access the paytable and game rules by clicking the “i” button and the system settings from the Menu icon.
The expected RTP for this game is far from the industry’s average, set at 94.27%. However, the medium volatility should be ideal for all players and the game’s 15,000x bet top win is lucrative!
When Thunderkick announced that they’d be releasing Midas Golden Touch 2, I thought the iGaming world should brace for another Gates of Olympus 1000 scenario, which is an exact original copy.
However, unlike the Midas Golden Touch Christmas Edition I reviewed a few months ago, it isn’t an outright copy-paste remake of the original. For instance, the maximum win has significantly improved to an outstanding 15,000x the stake! Also, the slot has an added Gift of Midas feature, Epic Wild (which is active in the bonus game), and two BET+ choices.
On the contrary, its RTP reduced to 94.27%, while the volatility changed to a fair medium. All in all, while there are a few good improvements, there are also a few dispiriting ones, perhaps to balance the game’s equation. And if you liked the 1st and 2nd prequels, you’ll certainly have a soft spot for this release!
