Midas Golden Touch 2 follows the path of its predecessors by incorporating the mythology of King Midas and his magical touch.

From the start, the graphics look similar to the original Midas Golden Touch but with a more royal and refined touch. It happens in a lustrous courtyard with glossy floors, towering pillars, hanging banners, and potted plants. A majestic soundtrack and effects complement the overall display of royalty.

The reels are at the centre of the screen, bordered by the control panel below it and a few other buttons on the top right-hand side. So, it should be effortless to get around.

Of course, when you have a game inspired by the legendary King Midas, everything should be glossy and golden. Maybe the only uncreative aspect of the paytable is the adoption of classic card ranks.

For the avoidance of doubt, winning combinations are only formed along the 15 paylines if they are in sequence from the leftmost position to the right without gaps.

The Final Thoughts

When Thunderkick announced that they’d be releasing Midas Golden Touch 2, I thought the iGaming world should brace for another Gates of Olympus 1000 scenario, which is an exact original copy.

However, unlike the Midas Golden Touch Christmas Edition I reviewed a few months ago, it isn’t an outright copy-paste remake of the original. For instance, the maximum win has significantly improved to an outstanding 15,000x the stake! Also, the slot has an added Gift of Midas feature, Epic Wild (which is active in the bonus game), and two BET+ choices.

On the contrary, its RTP reduced to 94.27%, while the volatility changed to a fair medium. All in all, while there are a few good improvements, there are also a few dispiriting ones, perhaps to balance the game’s equation. And if you liked the 1st and 2nd prequels, you’ll certainly have a soft spot for this release!
