Intouch Games Faces Audit Following Regulatory Failings

Intouch Games Faces Audit Following Regulatory Failings

An operator who is in charge of nine different online casinos and gambling sites is going to have to undergo an audit after a report by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) revealed several failings from the company in crucial areas. GoodLuckMate has the full story…

Failings in Three Key Areas

Intouch Games Limited is the company behind nine different gambling sites and numerous online casino, bingo, and poker games primarily made for mobile. The operator will now have to go through an audit and will also be required to pay £3.4 million because of the breaches. The audit will also come at the expense of Intouch Games. This audit is designed to ensure that the UK-based company will stick with all of the rules and guidelines set out by the UKGC. The list of the failings by the company is split into three parts. These are failings to do with social responsibility, anti-money laundering, and fair and transparent marketing.

The company’s social responsibility breaches include a range of different things. For example, there was evidence that the firm had not interacted with seven customers who showed signs of problem gambling. The investigation showed that Intouch Games had failed these customers in certain ways, most notably in their contact with them. The report showed that the operator didn’t follow its own legislation and failed to impose limits on the players when they began to show questionable gambling habits.

The company also failed to meet several anti-money laundering standards. This included failing to question or to clarify the source of funds information once it had been requested. The operator was also held to account for not assessing whether or not customers had used a payment provider that could be used for the exchanging of cryptocurrencies. When it comes to the company’s promotional and/or marketing issues, the audit showed that the operator had not been fully transparent with customers. This included not clearly stating the terms and conditions for bonus offers – including time limits for the offer and minimum and maximum bonuses.

High Standards in the UK for Operators

The audit made clear that Intouch Games co-operated with the commission throughout the process. Intouch Gaming will now begin to change its processes in order to solve these issues. Gambling in the United Kingdom is currently under a fairly intense spotlight. That’s because a generational review of the UK Gaming Act 2005 is currently taking place. There are several on-going discussions in the UK right now regarding the iGaming industry. These include the proposal of a monthly spending limit and the idea that banks may be able to regulate customers’ spending on online gambling.

The United Kingdom Gambling Commission is one of the most trusted authorities in the entire gambling industry, and the UK has some of the strictest legislation in the world. iGaming companies in the UK are regularly audited and checked to make sure they are complying with industry standards. The UKGC has commented on this case, making it clear that it intends to clamp down on any operators who are not delivering the high standards that they set.
